Review: Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick

Hey girls! I don’t know about you but I’ve been looking into a lot of international brands lately. Out of one of them in Boots No 7 which is thankfully available at Target in the US because of my new found love with their products. I was recently introduced to the Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick. It retails for $9.99 and I have it in the shade 04 Mischief. The shade is a cool medium pink with fine shimmer. It comes packaged in a black tube with the No 7 logo in gold printed on it. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-It’s very moisturizing and opaque in 1-2 swipes.
-It glides on smoothly and stays on for 5 hours before it’s completely faded away.
-It’s great for cool skin toned people.

Con(s):
-It makes the fine lines of my lips exaggerated.

Overall review: Overall, I would have to say that’s this lipstick is a great buy. It’s really moisturizing and opaque, but select shades might not be for warm/cool skin toned people. The thing I hate about it is that if my lips aren’t exfoliated, it makes my lips looks flaky and it exaggerates the fine lines and cracks on my lips. You get plenty of product in the tube so you don’t need to apply worry if your favorite shade if used up. Well, I hope all of you enjoyed and thanks to Nisha for requesting this review!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it VICKY approved? : If you don’t mind exfoliating before using this product then go ahead and buy it!

Review: DuWop Private Nude and Private Plum Lipsticks

Hey girls! So you all know that we’re transitioning from Summer to Fall and we have different fall trends like nude lips and dramatic eyes or luminous neutral skin and dramatic lips. I think that’s why it’s the perfect time for DuWop to add to their private lipstick collection. Last year, their famous Private Red lipstick launched and for fall 2010, they’re launching another two shades in their line. Those two shades are called Private Nude and Private Plum. They will retail for $22 each and will be available in September 2010 at Sephora stores and Sephora’s site. Keep reading to see what I think about this product!

Pro(s):
-It’s moisturizing and leaves a nice stain.
-It glides on like butter and stays for a total of 6-7 hours.
-It’s really opaque in one coat and it stays on for 2 hours and after that it’s just a nice stain.

Con(s):
-It does dry my lips a bit, but it’s nothing that lip balm can’t fix.

Overall review: For some reason I think that DuWop doesn’t get enough recognition because their lipsticks are amazing. The thing with a matte or moisturizing lipstick is that it stays on like a balm, but what if you can find a lipstick that transforms from a lipstick to a stain without the cracked lips feel. I think if you like moisturizing lipsticks with a stain, this is perfect. The only thing is that the shade range is a bit limited. Last year, there was only one shade and this year they are introducing two more. These lipsticks claim to be shade adjusting, but I didn’t notice anything like that. I just noticed that the nude shade didn’t wash me out and make me look like a ghost. Also, they plum shade doesn’t look old-lady like on me which is sort of adjusting. Thanks to Jenna for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed this review!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, if you can shell out $22 for an amazing quality lipstick.

Review: Senna Cosmetics Cream Lipstick

Hey girls! Today I shall review the Senna Cosmetics Cream Lipsticks in Soul and Last Tango. Soul is wearable nude that isn’t really too flesh colored. It’s more on the brown/beige side which would look good on warm tones. Last tango is a medium coral shade that would look good on warm tones. They both are the cream formula which don’t have shimmer and are semi-matte. They retail for $18 and you can find the link to their site in the side bar. Keep reading to see why I like these lipsticks a lot.

Pro(s):
-They have a wide shade range for every skin tone.
-They are super creamy and glide on very well.
-These don’t settle into the fine lines of the mouth and they are stored in a classic elegant tube.

Con(s):
-Because of their creaminess, they last only an hour or an hour and half at the most.

Overall review: I just love these lipsticks so much. I think they’re the best ones I’ve ever tried other than NYX Round Lipsticks. They are the exact same. The glide on really easily and just feel great on the lips. The only thing that bothers me is the wear time. They don’t smell like anything so that’s not an issue. They glide on better than even the MAC Creamsheen, but maybe MAC lipsticks are better because MAC lipsticks are $14 and Senna’s lipsticks are $19 for just .2 oz. more. Anyhow, I’ll leave the decision making up to you, but if you want to go for better formula, I think Senna’s Cream Lipsticks are worth every penny. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Definitely, they’re the best formula you will ever put on your lips.

Review: Motives Cosmetics Lipstick

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Motives Cosmetics Lipstick in Lolita Pink. This shade is like a bight frosted hot pink, but it doesn’t look that bright on your lips. You can purchase it from their website and it retails for $14. It’s a cosmetics line created by Loren Ridinger. It’s their Rich Formula Lipstick and keep reading to know why!

Pro(s):
-Very moisturizing and pigmented!
-Stays on for a fairly long time (4 hours +).
-Very opaque color in just one swipe.

Con(s):
-None found during the testing of this product!

Overall review: I really like this lipstick. It’s really moisturizing. It feels like wearing a lip balm, but its uber pigmented. The cool thing it that it cost just as much as a MAC lipstick does and is better quality that nay of the MAC formulas of lipsticks. Thanks to Alyssa for requesting the review and I hope everyone enjoyed this review!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, I love this product!

Review: Zosimos Botanicals Lipstick Mini

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Zosimos Botanicals Mini Lipsticks. I have three shades. They are the following: Peony which is a hot pink color, Peachfuzz which is a frosted gold color, and Lilac which is a light lavender shade. The mini sticks retail for $3 and the full size shades retail for $18. You can buy them off of Zosimosbotanicals.com. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very moisturizing!
-Medium pigmentation.
-Compact and easy to travel with.
-You get to try the shades before you buy them in full size.
-They last 4 hours.

Con(s):
-I think $3 for something so small is a bit pricey. They should be like $1 or $1.50 at most.

Overall review: I like these mini lipsticks, but they aren’t worth the price. Even if they’re $3, you only get 4 grams of product. That’s really less, but I really like the lipsticks themselves. They are easy to travel with and are a good option for people which want to try out their lipsticks before purchasing the full size $18 one. They last pretty long and they come in different finishes like frosts, creams, and mattes. They aren’t the most pigmented, but they’re not the sheerest. Thanks
for reading and I hope all of you enjoy this review!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Of course; it’s a great way to try out new shades!

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Revlon Color burst lipstick in Baby Pink. This shade is a frosted baby pink shade. It can be found at any drugstore, at many online e-tailers, as well as places where Revlon is sold. The price actually varies by store ranging anywhere from $7-$9. It had a slanted tip much like a LancĂ´me or CHANEL lipstick and it has “Revlon” engraved in it like CHANEL lipsticks do. Happy reading!

Pro(s):
-Its formula is very moisturizing and smooth.
-This lipstick doesn’t emphasize the cracks in your lips.
-It is much pigmented and the frostiness of it looks good on everyone.
-A great variety of shades.
-Last for a good 3 hours.

Con(s):
-Probably a bit pricey for a drugstore lipstick so try finding it on BOGO.

Overall review: I really like investing my money in these lipsticks. They are greatly pigmented and are pretty cheap. Some of the shades are cream while others are satin and some are frosts. I personally think that all of them are the same in texture but show up a bit differently on your lips. Overall I would really suggest them to anyone who wants a CHANEL comparable lipstick (because of its engraving), but at a drugstore price. Thanks to Shannon for requesting the review!

Rating: 9/10

Is it VICKY approved? : Yup, best for drugstore addicts!

Review: NEW Wet 'N' Wild Mega Last Lip color

Hey girls! For the gazillionth time today, I will be reviewing another product. This product is new from Wet ‘N’Wild and its called the Mega Last Lip color. I have the two shades of this in Think Pink and Just Peachy. You can purchase this from any drugstore for about $2.99 which wont set you back that much. Continue reading for more information!

Pro(s):
-Very pigmented.
-Smooth and lightweight on the lips.
-Wears for over 5 hours without touchups.
-Very affordable.

Con(s):
-The color bleeds a bit.
-Not very shiny.

Overall review: I love these lipsticks. They just bleed in color a bit and they are matte. That’s all that I kind of find annoying. In one swipe this shade is much pigmented. You will never have to use a lip color eraser because it even covered up my pigmented lips. Since the shades are matte, they might look a bit pastel but what I do is put a smooth lip balm under this product before applying it with a light hand to get the perfect amount of color. It has a huge range of shades and I bet you can find a dupe for your favorite MAC lipsticks in this collection. I hope all of you enjoyed the review!

Rating: 9/10

Is it VICKY approved? : Yes, I’ll soon buy more colors!

Small MAC Haul!

Hey girls! So normally I don’t do these kinds of posts, but this MAC haul got be a bit excited. The awesome UPS dude came an hour ago and dropped off my package. As all of you know, MAC has been releasing too many collections and I can’t manage to spend my money on each one of them. I sat myself down and decided what I should get from all of the collections and this is all I could have thought of. I get a duplicate of everything shown for my kit, but here’s what I have for myself. I finally purchased the Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick. This has been the rant and rave of all bloggers from everywhere. I’ve wanted it forever so here’s my haul. I tried it on and it’s a bit too blue toned but I can work with it. It’s the best bubblegum pink color. I also got Culture clash lipglass from MAC. It’s part of the Colour Forecast 1 (pink). I love it but the moment I swatches it and then removed it, tons of glitters were left over. I also got All That Glitters eye shadow which is so pretty in pan form. It’s a permanent, but I didn’t have it before. Finally, I got a free Zoomlash mascara sample. They suck, but every time I decide to get a coupon code for free shipping, I can’t just type in the code without the free sample. Somewhere in my mind, I need the free sample, but I never open or use them. I think they’ll be good gifts at my niece’s pajama party she’s having soon. That’s my haul. I’ll be reviewing the Gaga lipstick soon enough and feel free to request any other reviews. Enjoy!

Purple Lab is on HSN!

Hi girls. I really wanted to cover this amazing story of Karen. She is the mastermind behind “Huge Lips Skinny Hips” and these are amazing plumping lip glosses that I’ve applied once in a tester. Now, she’s on HSN. Watch her here! Check in the beauty section. She’s live now! It’s amazing how her journey from March on YouTube came to February on HSN. They’ve sold many so far like over 2,000. I believe that’s what I saw. The good thing they’re describing about these is that they’re pretty, light, non-drying, non-sticky, sheer, lasts good, non-runny, and just great for everyday. They plump your lips without the burning sensation. Also, a fellow beauty blogger whose name is Temptalia is tweeting away at this event because she’s there backstage which is cool. Follow her on twitter. Enjoy

Review: Senna Cosmetics Lip Sync

Hey girls! Today I’m reviewing the Senna Cosmetics Lip Sync in A La Mode. It retails for $24 from sennacosmetics.com and various boutiques however it’s on sale now for $14.40 so you’re in luck.

Pro(s):
-The lipstick is very pigmented and creamy.
-Both products are very moisturizing and long lasting.
-The lip gloss’s applicator is cool.
-The lip gloss is very smooth and non sticky.
-This shade duo is amazing.

Con(s):
-No cons!

Overall review: OMG! This is the best lipstick/lip gloss duo I’ve eve used. I’ve never seen anything like his before and after using it so far I love it to death. I’ve actually almost used up the entire lip gloss part. Since its very pink nude, I use it for everyday looks. Its non stickiness amazes me. I’ve never seen anything like it. At one point, I felt like I wasn’t wearing anything when all of a sudden a lady came up to me and said that she loved m lip color and asked me about it. III just love it and whoever asked for a review of this, thanks because I feel much honored to even try this product out. Enjoy!

Review: Hard Candy Lipstick

Hey girls! Today I’m reviewing a Hard Candy lipstick in No Peeking. This can be purchased at Wal-Mart stores and walmart.com. This retails for $6 which is very budget friendly. The color is a very bright dark pink and the swatch shown is the exact color of how it comes out on lips. There isn’t any shimmer in it and its sort of matter but still has an opaque finish. Keep reading to hear my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very budget friendly.
-Good pigmentation.
-Cute packaging.
-Moisturizes my lips.
-A lot of shades to fit any skin tone.

Con(s):
-It smudges.

Overall review: I really like this lipstick but my only complaint is that it smudges and feathers even when I use a lip liner. It’s too pigmented in my opinion but that isn’t really a bad thing at all. It glides on like butter and the formula is better than even a MAC Cream sheen lipstick. I would buy this no matter what and it seems like a good dupe of the Korres Lipstick. It glides on like butter which is very good and you wouldn’t need to use a gloss on top because of its opaqueness. This review was requested by Sammy but I forgot to mention the other requesters in other reviews. I’ll try doing that as much as possible because you people seem to like my reviews Thanks for all the support!

Rating: 9/10

Is it VICKY approved? : Definitely, I look forward to purchasing more in the future.

Review: Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick-10% Pigment

Hey girls! Today I’m reviewing the Lipstick Queen Saint Sheer Lipstick with 10% pigment. They’re meant to be very sheer, but I actually got a pretty good pigmentation of it. The one I have is saint pink.

Pro(s):
-It’s very creamy and moisturizing.
-It stays on for a long time.
-It’s very opaque.
-Even if it’s meant to be sheer it’s still pretty pigmented.
-I would describe it as the perfect mauve pink.
-It’s like a lip gloss and lipstick in one.

Con(s):
-It smells weird.

Overall review: I just love it. This lipstick always stays in my cosmetic bag. It best for day or night because of its mauviness. I would suggest this for anybody. I even used this on my younger 13 year old client because she was a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding and it looked perfectly natural on her. The color has little to no shimmer and is meant to be a matte but I see shine in it. It could smell better though. I hope you enjoyed this review!
