Review: Illamasqua Powder Eyeshadow

Hey girls! As all of you know, Vicky loves her neutrals. So today I have another neutral eye shadow to review for you. It’s called the Illamasqua Bronx Eye shadow. The shade can be described as a medium brown shade with gold shimmers. It retails for £15.00. It’s one of Illamasqua’s talked about products since the brand’s launch because it’s so awesome. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-It’s very easy to blend other shadows into this shadow.
-It lasts about 8 hours until it’s completely faded away.
-It hasn’t creased on me and somewhat smells like milk chocolate.
-There’s little to no fallout and they’re greatly pigmented.

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: At first when I smelled this eye shadow, I thought I was going crazy because it smells like milk chocolate. I absolutely love this product and I will purchase more shadows in the future. It’s a great all over lid color for people who are about MAC NC35. I can’t say enough about this product. You would just have to get it yourself and try it out. I couldn’t get the best swatch out of it because I didn’t want to use that shadow up too much LOL! Well, thanks to Janice for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Hell yeah, I love this shadow to death; I’ve already made a dent in it!

Review: NYX Winter in Moscow Silver Gray Smokey Look Palette

Hey girls! So for concluding the month of July, I will review the last product that I got that NYX released for the summer/fall time. It’s called the NYX Winter in Moscow Silver Gray Smokey Look Palette. In this $19.50 set, you get 2 blushes, 5 sheer lip glosses, and 14 shadows. The first blush is a soft baby pink which is matte and the second blush is a pinky dark coral with gold shimmers (it reminded me of NARS Orgasm). The shadows include several grays (both shimmer and glittery), a matte white, and several shades of black. The glosses are sheer and range in shades from clear base with gold glitter to a sheer mauve color. You can find these palettes on their website. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-The glosses are sheer and pair up nicely with the looks you can get by using the shadows.
-The shadows are nicely pigmented, last about 5-7 hours and are smooth when applied.
-The blushes are pigmented, lasted an entire working day on me and you don’t need that much for a flush of color.
-It’s very affordable and budget friendly!

Con(s):
-Since the powders and glosses are together, the glosses can get easily contaminated so you would have to keep the plastic in.
-There’s quite some fallout from some of the velvety shadows.

Overall review: I absolutely love this set especially because I’m a collector of palettes and this seems to be the best value. It's only $19.50 and you get amazingly pigmented shadows and blushes not to forget the glosses. I’m not being too picky about the glosses because they’re not meant to be super pigmented. They just look great with the looks you would make because for smokey looks, you’re always supposed to pair it up with a light lip and blush the colored that is provided in the palette. The shadows are very smooth, but you get tons of fallout so you might want to get some shadow shields. Thee blushes are ultra pigmented so you just need a little bit to get color. I overall love this palette and I hope you all can get in on this offer!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : I think it’s a great idea and best for girls on a budget!

Mini-Reviews: Face Atelier Shadow, Primers, and Highlighters

Hey girls! Today I will yet be doing another one of my mini-reviews series. The mini-reviews series focuses on products that I sent a sample jar or a very tiny amount of. Since you don’t get to see packaging or anything, I will not devote an entire review to these products. Today we have 4 products from Face Atelier cosmetics. One is their Lip Putty, next is their Ultra sheer highlighter in peach, then is their T-gel, and finally is their loose eye shadow in 6 which is a dark brown color with olive green duo chrome as you move.

My review (by product):
-Ultra sheer highlighter in peach: This isn’t too sheer and its color is quite buildable. I actually don’t have anything bad to say about it. It’s nice a dewy for the summer. I use it on my cheek bones and my cupids bow. The peach shade is in the picture and the one below it is the highlighter but blended out.

-Loose shadow in 6: This shade is really pretty since it has a duo chrome, but it would look off in the crease as this tends off to give two shades so if you have a light beige shade on your lid and you want to do a neutral look, don’t use this in the crease since it will look olive green in the light. It has a lot of fallout so I think this is best for the night as it would look nice in pics. Also, its best used wet.

-Lip putty: This lip putty is meant for being like a lip primer. It has the consistency of a lip balm, but clear, thick, and matte. It filled in the cracks in my lips before I applied my lipsticks and I’ve got to say that the lipstick glided on really easily. It doesn’t have an odor either.
-T-gel: This gel is not too thin or thick in consistency. It’s meant for your T-zone and it definitely mattifes that area and reduced the size of my pores. Although, people allergic to silicone might not like this product.

Rating (by product):
-Ultra sheer highlighter: 10/10 :)
-Loose shadow: 8/10
-Lip putty: 10/10 :)
-T-gel: 8/10

Would I recommend any of these? : Yup, definitely go and get the lip putty and
highlighter.

Review: Motives Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Motives Pressed Eye shadow. The shadows I have are in the following shades: Vanilla which is an off white matte shade, Heiress which is a shimmery baby pink shade, and Cinnamon Spice which is a dark brown with a shimmery finish. They retail for $12 each from motivescosmetics.com. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very long lasting, pigmented, and crease-free.
-They have a wide range of shades available.
-They have a wide range of finishes available like matte, shimmer, and glitter.
-Paraben, fragrance, and oil free.

Con(s):
-None found during the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: I really like these shadows. They’re the perfect MAC dupes because a MAC shadow in the pot is $14.50 and this shadow is $12. It won’t set you back that much. I personally prefer these over MAC shadows. Since you get .06 oz. of product, I think it’s a great alternative of MAC. You get the same quality for less. Thanks to Michelle F. for requesting this review. I hope all of my loyal readers enjoyed and keep requesting!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, they’re the best MAC dupes!

Mini-Review: Sassy Minerals Foundation, Blush, and Eye shadow

Hey girls! This is my first series on mini reviews. I just do multiple reviews in a short article for chicks on-the-go! The products I’m reviewing today are some Sassy minerals products. They wonderful team at MyShimmer.com sent me their foundation sample, eye shadow sample, and blush sample. The shade in foundation that I have is olive medium ($14). The blush I have is in tart ($11). The eye shadow I have is on pucker up ($4.25).

My review: I just absolutely love all of these products. The foundation is smooth, not too powdery, and easy to use. They shadow is pretty pigmented and vibrant and the blush is pigmented with a good lasting power like the foundation and eye shadow. The only complaint I actually have about it is that it is a bit too shimmer, but it would look nice for a night out. The good thing is though that you can easily tone it down with some of the foundation or some loose powder lightly dusted over the area you applied it. I especially love the texture and feel of them as they are very velvety and smooth. Also the good thing is that if you don’t know which foundation is your shade, you can first order the sample which retails for $.75. I hope all of you enjoyed this review!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, I love all of these products equally!

BeFlurt.com Shopping Experience and Overall Review

Hey girls! I got these goodies from BeFlurt.com yesterday. This website basically resells high end and drugstore products for less like allcosmeticswholesale.com and brigettesboutique.com except they have more customized service. This post is basically going to be about my shopping thoughts and overall thoughts on the products I received. It was a breeze shopping on their site because everything is so organized. It like a plain experience but the shocking thing was that my package got here in 3 business days. I ordered on Friday and the same day shipping and I received it yesterday which was Monday. It was well packed and I got 3 business cards and a card filled with promotional codes. It was so securely packaged and I was pretty shocked.

So now let’s get on to what I received. I got a $25 credit from them so I ordered only one shadow. It’s a MAC Eye shadow from the Starflash collection for $14.50. They do have limited edition stuff and a limited stock on the products so I suggest whoever wanted to order (because a lot of you requested this) should go and do so soon. II hope you enjoyed my little post and a review will come soon on the shadow!

*All products from this post were sent to me free of charge.

Small MAC Haul!

Hey girls! So normally I don’t do these kinds of posts, but this MAC haul got be a bit excited. The awesome UPS dude came an hour ago and dropped off my package. As all of you know, MAC has been releasing too many collections and I can’t manage to spend my money on each one of them. I sat myself down and decided what I should get from all of the collections and this is all I could have thought of. I get a duplicate of everything shown for my kit, but here’s what I have for myself. I finally purchased the Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick. This has been the rant and rave of all bloggers from everywhere. I’ve wanted it forever so here’s my haul. I tried it on and it’s a bit too blue toned but I can work with it. It’s the best bubblegum pink color. I also got Culture clash lipglass from MAC. It’s part of the Colour Forecast 1 (pink). I love it but the moment I swatches it and then removed it, tons of glitters were left over. I also got All That Glitters eye shadow which is so pretty in pan form. It’s a permanent, but I didn’t have it before. Finally, I got a free Zoomlash mascara sample. They suck, but every time I decide to get a coupon code for free shipping, I can’t just type in the code without the free sample. Somewhere in my mind, I need the free sample, but I never open or use them. I think they’ll be good gifts at my niece’s pajama party she’s having soon. That’s my haul. I’ll be reviewing the Gaga lipstick soon enough and feel free to request any other reviews. Enjoy!

Product of the Week 1: Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Garnet Sensation

Hey girls! Today I will be starting a new series of posts every Sunday that will display my pick of the week which will be the product of the week that I’ve been using for a long time and I really love. This week’s product of the week is the Lancôme Color Design Eye shadow in Garnet Sensation. I use this for everyday looks just to add a bit of sparkle or for nights out as a crease color. It really deepens up any look ad in my opinion it’s the best Lancôme product I’ve ever tried. Now I still remember when I was little (not so long ago; about 13 yrs old) and my mom used to buy Lancôme at a discounted price from some Cosmetic Company store and whenever she got the little samples of like the Bi-Facil Makeup remover or the cream eye shadow base, she always have them to me and I played around with them like I’d never seen makeup before. Well, my Lancôme obsession grew (but I still buy stuff at the discounted price) and now I’m here with these eye shadows. My mom actually got them for me a year ago for 99 cents each (I know, very unbelievable) and believe me they’re legit. I fell in love ever since. They’re much pigmented (depending on which type you buy) and are a bit bigger than a MAC Eye shadow pan for about the same price. The one shown above is Garnet Sensation and I would describe it as a medium purple with a lot of shimmers and glitters. I like the frostiness of the shadow, but that sometimes stops it from being much pigmented. I know a lot of you emailed me about MAC eye shadow dupes and I think you just might be able to find some nice dupes from Lancôme. I hope you enjoy this post, thanks!
