Review: NEW NYX Studio Liquid Liner

Hey girls! Today I will be reviewing a new product by NYX Cosmetics and it’s called the NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner. It’s a new product for the summer and released in July. It’s already making appearances at e-tailers such as http://CherryCulture.com and http://NYXCosmetics.com where they retail for $4.50 a piece. These liquid liners were created for dramatic and intense color. There are currently12 shades available from Extreme Black to Extreme Pink. The shades shown in the pictures are Extreme Coffee, Extreme Blue, and Extreme Purple. Let’s see if they live up to what they claim!

Pro(s):
-Very pigmented and intense color.
-Fine brush applicator so it’s easy to make thin or thick lines.
-They have a huge range of shades available (have you ever heard any company have PINK eye liner).
-I got about 6-7 hours of wear with these.

Con(s):
-It’s easily rubbed off when wet thus it’s not sweat proof.

Overall review: I really like these. They also have a pink liquid liner which is amazing. They wear great and I like their fine brush tip applicator. I used this on the bride when I went to a wedding this weekend and she never needed only one touchup. The thing that was a downfall was that they aren’t waterproof. When I went to shower, I forgot these were on my eyelids and lower lash line and I rubbed my eyes. I got scared because I saw blue rubbery pieces coming off of my face and when I looked in the mirror, the liquid liner was PEELING off. Well, other than that, they’re a great bang for your buck and I suggest them to everybody. The rating just goes down because of the peeling. Thanks to Arianna for requesting and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Why not? If you’re a girl on a budget, these are amazing for their prize!

N.Y.C. Sun Soaked Collection for Summer 2010 Review

So, yesterday I went to the Rite Aid 6 blocks away from me (I have one 2 blocks away from me) because they were having a BOGO on Revlon lippies because they just opened. I checked out all the new displays and I’ve got to say that I love what I’m seeing. Sinful colors and Wet ‘n’ Wild came out with fall collections for nail polishes. They polishes were perfect for Halloween and for the fall. I was going to take pictures of the displays, but I just wanted to concentrate this post on amazing products from N.Y.C. So as all of you probably know, New York Color (N.Y.C.) is our most affordable drugstore brand. With products from cream blushes to mosaic face powders, their entire line ranges from $.99 to about $4.99. Recently, they are collaborating with a lot of makeup artists from New York City and creating these amazing limited edition collections that can beat Urban Decay or Makeup Forever any day. Recently they came out with a collection called Color Pop and that consisted of several dramatic shades of eye shadow duos and neon colored lip glosses which came out to be really sheer on the lips. When I went in yesterday, this new collection called Sun Soaked caught my eye. Today I went in again with a wallet and the iPhone and took a nice picture of the display. Here it is:

This collection has many new products for the summer time. They have their quick dry nail polishes in two shades: Pink Paradise and Coral Reefe. They both retail for $1.99 each. Then they had 2 new shades of their Waterproof eyeliner pencil in the colors Bronze and Turquoise. They retail for $3.99. They also have 2 lip glosses that retailed for $2.99 each with the same shade names as the nail polishes. They also came out with 2 matte bronzers retailing for $4.99 each. There are also new eye shadow quads and color wheel face powders for $4.99. I got so excited just by looking at the collection. I only purchased the eye pencil in Turquoise and the lip gloss in Coral Reefe. I will have pictures and a review down below.

N.Y.C. Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise
I love this so much. As the name suggests, this is a frosty turquoise shade. It’s creamy and smooth. Its greatly pigmented and wont rub off easily. It’s waterproof because it stayed on my waterline for about 6 hours. It seemed very comparable to Makeup Forever Aqua Liners and the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils. Go grab this while you can since it’s a limited edition shade.

N.Y.C Kiss Gloss in Coral Reefe
I love this just as much as I love the eyeliner pencil. It’s a pinky coral shade that looks intensely pigmented, but when used on lips provided the perfect summer-y tint. It glides on easily. It’s not as sticky or thick as the kiss gloss from the Color Pop collection and this actually tastes sweet.

I just love these two products to death and I think I might get a nail polishes and the other eye liner because all of the products in this collection are limited edition and the collection is just too awesome to miss. Thanks for reading and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Review: Motives Cosmetics Gel Eye Liner

Hey girls! Today I will be reviewing the Motives Cosmetics Gel Eye liner in Chocoholic. This is a dark brown with gold shimmers in it. You can purchase this product from motivescosmetics.com for $15.75. Its best if used with their angled brush which I love to death because you can create the perfect cat eye look with it. Keep reading to see why I absolutely love this product!

Pro(s):
-It last really long without creasing (6 hours).
-Very intense color without looking too intense.
-Greatly pigmented. You don’t have to go over it a lot of times.
-Very creamy.

Con(s):
-None found during the testing of this product.

Overall review: I really adore this product. It is perfect for everyday use and lasts really long. It’s much pigmented for a creamy for gel eyeliner. It has a matte finish which I really like. It’s great as a base for smoky brown looks that you might want to do for prom or something. Thanks a lot to Margaret for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoy this product!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Oh yeah, I love this product to death!

Review: Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Eye shadow Primer

Hey girls! So, as many of you know, a lot of you live off of Urban Decay Primer Potion or L’Oreal De-crease Eye shadow primer and you cannot find anything better right. But today I bring to you a review for the Senna Cosmetics Totally Transforming Eye shadow Primer in Shade 1. It retails for $22 from various boutiques and sennacosmetics.com. Keep reading to know more!

Pros:
-It makes my eye shadows look brighter and they last longer when I use this.
-It just makes a bare canvas or my eyelid.
-It doesn’t look cakey.
-It covers up the discoloration of my eyelid.
-Smoothes the entire lid.
-It’s a bang for your buck.

Con(s):
-Bad pot packaging; it’s very unsanitary to dip your finger in it every time you use it.

Overall review: This is probably by far the best dupe for UDPP or L’Oreal De-crease. It makes my shadows long for about the same price as Urban Decay Primer Potion. It works really nicely with anyone almost. I have a lot of darkness on my lids and this just makes everything neutral colored. My eye shadow doesn’t crease when I use this. I once went to a wedding and my eye shadow lasted the entire day and night through the reception. I hope you enjoyed this review!

Rating: 9/10

Is it VICKY approved? : Yes, I’m really thinking of getting another one.
