Review: Motives Cosmetics Nail Enamel

Hey girls! So this is part two of the Motives Cosmetics Nail Enamel review. This part is the actual nail review. So each bottle can be purchased at their website (link in the side) for $5.25. They have different formulas of polishes from sheer to glitter to crème. Well, I don’t have much more to say so let’s get on with the actual review!

Pro(s):
-The polishes are 3-free and very affordable.
-The formula is smooth and not goopy or anything. No complaints on the formula!
-The polish won’t really chip; just at the tips.

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: I love these polishes. They’re so luxe feeling although they will only set you back a mere $5. The thing that I really liked about these polishes was the packaging. This product is best for girls on a budget. I’ve also heard certain rumors that this company has the same manufacturer as MAC. I don’t know though so I'll update you guys on that. The top of the bottle though it made of the same rubber-y plastic that’s on NARS packaging. Well, I hope all of you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Definitely, since it’s not more expensive than a
drugstore polish!

Review: NEW NYX Studio Liquid Liner

Hey girls! Today I will be reviewing a new product by NYX Cosmetics and it’s called the NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner. It’s a new product for the summer and released in July. It’s already making appearances at e-tailers such as http://CherryCulture.com and http://NYXCosmetics.com where they retail for $4.50 a piece. These liquid liners were created for dramatic and intense color. There are currently12 shades available from Extreme Black to Extreme Pink. The shades shown in the pictures are Extreme Coffee, Extreme Blue, and Extreme Purple. Let’s see if they live up to what they claim!

Pro(s):
-Very pigmented and intense color.
-Fine brush applicator so it’s easy to make thin or thick lines.
-They have a huge range of shades available (have you ever heard any company have PINK eye liner).
-I got about 6-7 hours of wear with these.

Con(s):
-It’s easily rubbed off when wet thus it’s not sweat proof.

Overall review: I really like these. They also have a pink liquid liner which is amazing. They wear great and I like their fine brush tip applicator. I used this on the bride when I went to a wedding this weekend and she never needed only one touchup. The thing that was a downfall was that they aren’t waterproof. When I went to shower, I forgot these were on my eyelids and lower lash line and I rubbed my eyes. I got scared because I saw blue rubbery pieces coming off of my face and when I looked in the mirror, the liquid liner was PEELING off. Well, other than that, they’re a great bang for your buck and I suggest them to everybody. The rating just goes down because of the peeling. Thanks to Arianna for requesting and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Why not? If you’re a girl on a budget, these are amazing for their prize!

N.Y.C. Sun Soaked Collection for Summer 2010 Review

So, yesterday I went to the Rite Aid 6 blocks away from me (I have one 2 blocks away from me) because they were having a BOGO on Revlon lippies because they just opened. I checked out all the new displays and I’ve got to say that I love what I’m seeing. Sinful colors and Wet ‘n’ Wild came out with fall collections for nail polishes. They polishes were perfect for Halloween and for the fall. I was going to take pictures of the displays, but I just wanted to concentrate this post on amazing products from N.Y.C. So as all of you probably know, New York Color (N.Y.C.) is our most affordable drugstore brand. With products from cream blushes to mosaic face powders, their entire line ranges from $.99 to about $4.99. Recently, they are collaborating with a lot of makeup artists from New York City and creating these amazing limited edition collections that can beat Urban Decay or Makeup Forever any day. Recently they came out with a collection called Color Pop and that consisted of several dramatic shades of eye shadow duos and neon colored lip glosses which came out to be really sheer on the lips. When I went in yesterday, this new collection called Sun Soaked caught my eye. Today I went in again with a wallet and the iPhone and took a nice picture of the display. Here it is:

This collection has many new products for the summer time. They have their quick dry nail polishes in two shades: Pink Paradise and Coral Reefe. They both retail for $1.99 each. Then they had 2 new shades of their Waterproof eyeliner pencil in the colors Bronze and Turquoise. They retail for $3.99. They also have 2 lip glosses that retailed for $2.99 each with the same shade names as the nail polishes. They also came out with 2 matte bronzers retailing for $4.99 each. There are also new eye shadow quads and color wheel face powders for $4.99. I got so excited just by looking at the collection. I only purchased the eye pencil in Turquoise and the lip gloss in Coral Reefe. I will have pictures and a review down below.

N.Y.C. Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Turquoise
I love this so much. As the name suggests, this is a frosty turquoise shade. It’s creamy and smooth. Its greatly pigmented and wont rub off easily. It’s waterproof because it stayed on my waterline for about 6 hours. It seemed very comparable to Makeup Forever Aqua Liners and the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencils. Go grab this while you can since it’s a limited edition shade.

N.Y.C Kiss Gloss in Coral Reefe
I love this just as much as I love the eyeliner pencil. It’s a pinky coral shade that looks intensely pigmented, but when used on lips provided the perfect summer-y tint. It glides on easily. It’s not as sticky or thick as the kiss gloss from the Color Pop collection and this actually tastes sweet.

I just love these two products to death and I think I might get a nail polishes and the other eye liner because all of the products in this collection are limited edition and the collection is just too awesome to miss. Thanks for reading and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Review: Senna Cosmetics Cream Lipstick

Hey girls! Today I shall review the Senna Cosmetics Cream Lipsticks in Soul and Last Tango. Soul is wearable nude that isn’t really too flesh colored. It’s more on the brown/beige side which would look good on warm tones. Last tango is a medium coral shade that would look good on warm tones. They both are the cream formula which don’t have shimmer and are semi-matte. They retail for $18 and you can find the link to their site in the side bar. Keep reading to see why I like these lipsticks a lot.

Pro(s):
-They have a wide shade range for every skin tone.
-They are super creamy and glide on very well.
-These don’t settle into the fine lines of the mouth and they are stored in a classic elegant tube.

Con(s):
-Because of their creaminess, they last only an hour or an hour and half at the most.

Overall review: I just love these lipsticks so much. I think they’re the best ones I’ve ever tried other than NYX Round Lipsticks. They are the exact same. The glide on really easily and just feel great on the lips. The only thing that bothers me is the wear time. They don’t smell like anything so that’s not an issue. They glide on better than even the MAC Creamsheen, but maybe MAC lipsticks are better because MAC lipsticks are $14 and Senna’s lipsticks are $19 for just .2 oz. more. Anyhow, I’ll leave the decision making up to you, but if you want to go for better formula, I think Senna’s Cream Lipsticks are worth every penny. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Definitely, they’re the best formula you will ever put on your lips.

Review: Finger Paints Summer Collection for 2010

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Finger Paints Love at First Bright Collection which is their summer 2010. These polishes are exclusive to Sally Beauty Supply. They retail for $3.99 a bottle and there are 6 shades in this collection. They are also available online. Keep reading to see my review on them!

Pro(s):
-Long wearing and doesn’t chip easily.
-Affordable price and OPI comparable!
-Very glossy and opaque in just two coats.
-Very smooth to apply.

Con(s):
-None found while testing this product.

Overall review: I just love these polishes. They are much like OPI polishes except cheaper. You get more product in these Finger Paints polishes. I would prefer these over OPI polishes any day. They’re much better and when I put the polish on, it wouldn’t come off for almost two weeks. I got so annoyed by the same color, but it wouldn’t budge. Thanks for who requested this review; I’m sorry I don’t remember the person!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, they’re a good dupe to OPI polishes!

Introducing the New Finger Paints Collection for Summer 2010 Part 2: Swatches and Shade Descriptions

Hey girls, here are the shade descriptions for the summer 2010 collection at Sally Beauty Supply. The brand is called Finger Paints Nail Color and is a line of nail polishes exclusively made for their store. They recently discontinued all of their polishes and introduced 40 new shades. They’re all very opaque and wearable. Here are the shade descriptions:

-Orange You in Love? : This is a mid-tone orange which isn’t too red based or too blue based. It’s pretty wearable and is even in 2 coats.
-Art Dealer Teal-er: This is a teal shade which is more blue than green. It has iridescence to it which creates a duo chrome effect. This shade is wearable to as all the shades in this collection and is even in 2 coats.
- Come-One Coral: This isn’t much coral. It’s softer red looking in the bottle with a cream finish. It’s even in two coats and wearable. This one didn’t stain my cuticles which you would expect a red to do.
-Lucky In Love Lime: A lime green shade which isn’t too neon so it’s wearable. It’s opaque in two coats and has a cream finish.
-Love at First Bight: As the name suggest, this shade would be bright but it’s not that bright. It’s wearable and opaque in 2 coats with a cream finish. It would be more of a darkened Barbie pink.
-Passionate Purple: This shad would be best described as a grape juice purple with iridescence in it. It’s very opaque in a coat but could use the extra coat. This one also has a duo chrome effect to it when viewed from different angles.

I hope you enjoyed the swatches and the review should be coming very soon!

Review: NEW OPI Flutter Collection for Summer 2010

Hey girls! Today I’ll finally be reviewing the OPI Flutter collection for summer 2010.It will release 4 new OPI shades and these will be limited edition as always. There is a blue shades, a mid-tone pink, a fuchsia shade and an orange shade. They come in different finishes which is the good thing because I’m getting bored of cream finishes. Keep reading to see my review!

Pro(s):
-Very opaque and you don’t need too many coats.
-Fast drying and the formula is not too thin and runny or too thick and goopy.
-Exclusive pro-wide brush which helps to spread the nail polish

Con(s):
-None found during the testing of this product!

Overall review: I love OPI nail polishes. Since my Shrek review, I’ve purchased several other shades and I love them all so far. I highly suggest getting all the polishes in this collection because they are just awesome. They glide on my bumpy nails with ease like butter. Thanks to Magdalena for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoy it!

Rating: 10/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, I personally suggest getting the entire collection!

Introducing the NEW OPI Flutter Collection for Summer 2010 Part 2: Swatches

Hey girls!Here are the swatches and shade descriptions for each shade that will be releasing this month in the OPI Flutter Collection for summer 2010.

Shade descriptions:

-Flit A Bit: This shad is an opaque orange with a crème finish. It’s pretty even in 2 coats.
-Wing It! : This is a very glittery shade. It’s a dark fuchsia pink with tons of glitter. It has blue/purple reflex in it which causes the shade to look different from different angles. This might need 3 coats although I used 2 coats for the swatches. It’s a bit on the transparent side.
-Flower-To-Flower: This is a mid-tone pink with an almost crème finish, but it has fine silver shimmers. It’s even in 2 coats and I actually painted all my nails this shade after receiving press samples.
-Catch Me In Your Net: This shade is a lot like Wing It! because it’s really on the transparent side. In the swatch I have 2 coats on but you might need 3-4. The shade itself is a dark blue with turquoise green reflex in it so this shade also looks different from different angles. It also has a lot of glitter in it which I said was the reflex.

My review is coming up next!

Review: NEW OPI Shrek Forever After Collection for Spring/Summer 2010

Hey girls! It’s finally here. Attack of the GREEN OGRES! No, I’m just kidding ya, but today I do have a quite interesting review on nail polishes. They are from the new OPI Shrek Forever After Collection. This collection is set to release in May at all ULTA stores, OPI’s website, and other e-tailers like 8ty8beauty.com and transdesign.com as well as other beauty supply stores. As promised, I have shown pictures and swatches in separate posts. It will retail anywhere from $4-$9. Now, here’s the review with complete descriptions of all of the shades released with this collection.

Shade Descriptions:

-OPI Ogre-The-Top Blue: A true dark blue where it’s not too navy or too sky blue.
-OPI Who the Shrek Are You? : A booger colored green which is also a crème. It’s like a leaf colored green.
-OPI What’s with the Cattitude? : This is a pastel mix between sky blue and baby blue. It’s a very softened shade, but not exactly too light.
-OPI Funky Dunkey: A true softened purple. This is also a crème. It’s less dark and black than Lincoln Park After Dark.
-OPI Fiercely Fiona: It’s a softened pastel yellow/green that’s not too bright and perfect for spring in my opinion.
-OPI

Pro(s):
-Opaque in two coats.
-Exclusive pro-wide brush which makes application easier.
-Shelf life of 24 months after opening (I base it on consistency though)/
-Not too thin or thick consistency. Just right that makes it truly opaque.

Con(s):
-None found while testing this product!

Overall review: I just love this collection. Everything about it is really good and the fact that the color is so opaque in two coats is just amazing. In all of the swatches I used only two coats. All of the colors from this collection are really unique and worth purchasing. The good thing is that all of them are crèmes so you really won’t have a problem in terms of streakiness. I hope you all enjoyed my review because all of you had been emailing me 24/7 asking me to do this review!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it VICKY approved? : Yup, I definitely love everything!
