Review, Product Pictures, and Swatches: OPI Go Goth Collection for Halloween 2010

Sometimes it feels like companies are too quick in coming out with their collections. I mean, we’re not even done with summer and fall collections are coming out already. Amidst all of these collections, OPI decided to release its Halloween collection in the beginning of September. Now, I’m not gonna snore because Halloween happens to be my most favorite holiday. Just the thought of getting free candy and dressing up makes me want to piss in my pants. I think that candy is the best gift in the world. So, this year’s collection is called Go Goth and it comes with 4 OPI minis is ghoulish shades as well as a free lace cuff bracelet. The entire set will retail for $12.50. All of the colors are minis which means that they are 1/8 Fl. oz. Now, I’ve heard many things about how the minis are heard to work with, but I think that those people are definitely crazy. I have small nails (as you can tell by the swatches) and the brush is perfect for it. I also love the drying time and they pigmentation of a OPIs and these are no different. They are the exact same as full size OPIs, but these are tinier. I personally think it is too cute that they’re so mini that you can fit them in your pocket. With these, I got chip free wear for 5 days until the tips started wearing off somewhat. The shades came out just like they were described, but let me describe them in my own words again.

-Unripened: A black shade with green glitter. In the swatches, I used 2 coats.
-Nevermore: A black shade with purple glitter. In the swatches, I used 2 coats.
-Sanguine: A dark red with black shimmer. In the swatches I also used 2 coats.
-Obscurity: A matte black shade. In the swatches, I used 2 coats.

So, I don’t have to complain about any of the shades. They were excellent quality and they work really nicely with nails of any size (I used on my mom and she has huge nails). So, here are the swatches and more product pictures. Thanks for reading!

Enjoy!

Mini-Reviews: Honeycat Cosmetics Products

Hey girls! So, I come to you today with my series of mini-reviews. I had some Honeycat Cosmetics’ products for a while now that I wanted to share the quality and everything with you, but was too lazy to make different posts about. So today, I’m targeting all of those products and reviewing every product. Their retail values will all be in their reviews so look out for that and the link to purchase the items will be in the sidebar. Thanks again for reading!

My review (by product):
-Rub My Tummy, Milk and Honey Hand and Body Cream: This retails for $12 for 6 oz and comes housed in a medium sized tub. It’s very thin in consistency, absorbs quickly, and eaves your hands feeling hydrated, soft, smooth, and smelling sweet like honey mainly. I have no complaints about it and I think it’s worth the $12.

-Chick of the Sea Foaming Bath Crystals: These come in a tin (like the tins that anchovies or sardines come in) and retails for $10. It’s supposed to be one time use, but I’ve saved it up and used it in 2 separate baths. They foam up really nicely in warm water and contain essential oils that leave my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I just wish that for the price, they gave more product.

-Whisker Slicker I’m in Heat Lip Balm: This lip balm comes in a chap stick-like container and retails for $6. It smells like cinnamon and tastes sweet. It really moisturizes your lips since they’re so much vitamin E in it. It feels warm and sort of tingling on your lips when you first apply, but it eventually subsides. I think that this is by far the best product I’ve ever tried by them!

-Frisky Kitty Bath Time Fizzy (bath bombs): One bath bomb is $10 and they have four different scents from oatmeal to rose and lemongrass. You are supposed to use on bath bomb per bath, but I cut it in half and I get two uses out of it. It has lots of essential oil and smells great so it moisturizes while giving you a calming spa experience.

Rating (by product):
-10/10 :)
-9/10
-10/10 :)
-10/10 :)

Would I recommend any of these? : Well, my personal faves are the lip balm and the bath bomb so think about investing in them!

Mini-Reviews: Face Atelier Shadow, Primers, and Highlighters

Hey girls! Today I will yet be doing another one of my mini-reviews series. The mini-reviews series focuses on products that I sent a sample jar or a very tiny amount of. Since you don’t get to see packaging or anything, I will not devote an entire review to these products. Today we have 4 products from Face Atelier cosmetics. One is their Lip Putty, next is their Ultra sheer highlighter in peach, then is their T-gel, and finally is their loose eye shadow in 6 which is a dark brown color with olive green duo chrome as you move.

My review (by product):
-Ultra sheer highlighter in peach: This isn’t too sheer and its color is quite buildable. I actually don’t have anything bad to say about it. It’s nice a dewy for the summer. I use it on my cheek bones and my cupids bow. The peach shade is in the picture and the one below it is the highlighter but blended out.

-Loose shadow in 6: This shade is really pretty since it has a duo chrome, but it would look off in the crease as this tends off to give two shades so if you have a light beige shade on your lid and you want to do a neutral look, don’t use this in the crease since it will look olive green in the light. It has a lot of fallout so I think this is best for the night as it would look nice in pics. Also, its best used wet.

-Lip putty: This lip putty is meant for being like a lip primer. It has the consistency of a lip balm, but clear, thick, and matte. It filled in the cracks in my lips before I applied my lipsticks and I’ve got to say that the lipstick glided on really easily. It doesn’t have an odor either.
-T-gel: This gel is not too thin or thick in consistency. It’s meant for your T-zone and it definitely mattifes that area and reduced the size of my pores. Although, people allergic to silicone might not like this product.

Rating (by product):
-Ultra sheer highlighter: 10/10 :)
-Loose shadow: 8/10
-Lip putty: 10/10 :)
-T-gel: 8/10

Would I recommend any of these? : Yup, definitely go and get the lip putty and
highlighter.

Review: Zosimos Botanicals Lipstick Mini

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Zosimos Botanicals Mini Lipsticks. I have three shades. They are the following: Peony which is a hot pink color, Peachfuzz which is a frosted gold color, and Lilac which is a light lavender shade. The mini sticks retail for $3 and the full size shades retail for $18. You can buy them off of Zosimosbotanicals.com. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very moisturizing!
-Medium pigmentation.
-Compact and easy to travel with.
-You get to try the shades before you buy them in full size.
-They last 4 hours.

Con(s):
-I think $3 for something so small is a bit pricey. They should be like $1 or $1.50 at most.

Overall review: I like these mini lipsticks, but they aren’t worth the price. Even if they’re $3, you only get 4 grams of product. That’s really less, but I really like the lipsticks themselves. They are easy to travel with and are a good option for people which want to try out their lipsticks before purchasing the full size $18 one. They last pretty long and they come in different finishes like frosts, creams, and mattes. They aren’t the most pigmented, but they’re not the sheerest. Thanks
for reading and I hope all of you enjoy this review!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Of course; it’s a great way to try out new shades!
