Review: Mariah Carey Lollipop Bling Mine Again Eau De Parfum Spray

Hi girls! So out of the Mariah Carey Lollipop Bling Fragrance Trilogy, I left the best for last which is Mine Again. It’s the boldest one and I thought some of you might have fun with it. Like all of the other fragrances in the lollipop bling collection, this one also retails for $35 for an ounce of perfume. They can be found on Elizabeth Arden's website (link in the side bar). They are currently only sold at Macy’s Stores, but will be available before Valentine’s Day in drugstores. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Scent Description: When you first spray it, you immediately smell blood orange. After the dry down, you smell blood orange, chocolate with raspberries, and some hints of vanilla. Towards the end when the fragrances is almost faded away, it smells like musky vanilla.

Packaging: This fragrance is housed in a red and blue box with holographic images of lollipops and candy. The bottle itself is a glass bottle tinted red with a plastic butterfly top.

Wear time: This wore for 8 hours on me before it was completely worn away.

Overall review: I think that out of the entire Mariah Carey, this one is my least favorite. I still love it to death and if I was stuck on an island, I would want all three with me, but this one is more for a night out. If you’re able to pull off such bold fragrances during the day, then this one would be a favorite of yours. It’s not day appropriate; it is better for a night out or to go clubbing with your hubby. I personally wore this to my cousin’s house one day and my uncle asked “Who is going to the club here?”. I totally cracked up, but then I realized that it’s more of a night scent. Thanks to Leila for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Recommendation: If you love bold fragrances then this one’s for you!

Review: Bodycology Rich & Creamy Body Wash

Hey girls! As we all know by now, I absolutely love bath products. I always use a body wash or body gel when I shower. Soap can never do it for me. So today, I’ll be reviewing a really affordable body wash. It’s the Bodycology Rich & Creamy Body Wash in the Deep Cleansing. They have many versions available; one of which I have which is in Deep Cleansing and smells like grapefruit and oranges. They can be found at many drugstores including Walgreens, CVS, and Target at a retail price of $4.99 for 18 fl oz. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-It moisturizes my skin and deep cleanses.
-It doesn’t leave dry spots and it’s very affordable.
-It refreshes me in the morning and

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: I think this is a great back to school buy. It’s affordable, works great, and refreshes you in the morning. I will definitely need this when I start my residency. I’ll spend my day looking at little kids and I’ll need to be refreshed and energized so I won’t incorrectly diagnose little babies. I’m not too fond of the scent because I don’t like grapefruits, but I do love oranges so it’s not much of a problem. They do have several other scents available for every nose. You don’t even need much for your entire body because it lathers really well. I hope all of you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes; for a deep clean and awake feel, its steal for only $3.99.

Review: Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick

Hey girls! I don’t know about you but I’ve been looking into a lot of international brands lately. Out of one of them in Boots No 7 which is thankfully available at Target in the US because of my new found love with their products. I was recently introduced to the Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick. It retails for $9.99 and I have it in the shade 04 Mischief. The shade is a cool medium pink with fine shimmer. It comes packaged in a black tube with the No 7 logo in gold printed on it. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-It’s very moisturizing and opaque in 1-2 swipes.
-It glides on smoothly and stays on for 5 hours before it’s completely faded away.
-It’s great for cool skin toned people.

Con(s):
-It makes the fine lines of my lips exaggerated.

Overall review: Overall, I would have to say that’s this lipstick is a great buy. It’s really moisturizing and opaque, but select shades might not be for warm/cool skin toned people. The thing I hate about it is that if my lips aren’t exfoliated, it makes my lips looks flaky and it exaggerates the fine lines and cracks on my lips. You get plenty of product in the tube so you don’t need to apply worry if your favorite shade if used up. Well, I hope all of you enjoyed and thanks to Nisha for requesting this review!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it VICKY approved? : If you don’t mind exfoliating before using this product then go ahead and buy it!

Review: Mariah Carey Lollipop Bling Ribbon Eau De Parfum Spray

Hi girls! All of you probably know that I couldn’t resist the Mariah Carey Lollipop Bling collection and had to get all three so today I will be reviewing the second one in this collection. It is called Ribbon which is also a name of one of Mariah Carey’s songs. It retails for $35 for 1 oz. They can be found on Elizabeth Arden's website (link in the side bar). It can be found at Macy’s and next year before Valentine’s Day, it will be available at drugstores in a cutesy display with custom made ring pops. Keep reading for my thoughts on this product!

Scent Description: When I first spray it, I immediately smell raspberries and honeydew. After the dry down, I still smell those two things but with a candied vanilla twist. Towards the end, I smell vanilla and sugar crystals.

Packaging: It’s housed in a blue box. The bottle is tinted blue and towards the end of the bottle its tinted pink. The cap is a plastic blue butterfly.

Wear time: It wears on me for about 8 hours. Towards the end of the 8 hour period, it’s basically faded.

Overall review: Most of you probably can tell by the reviews on my blog that I’m a sucker for packaging and this one fit into my must have list. Since I love fruity scents (one again) and sweet scents, I absolutely love this perfume. I think I like it better than all the other scents in this lollipop collection, but I still like all of them. The other fragrance should be reviewed soon so keep on the lookout for that. It’s really wearable for anyone from the age of 13-18. It’s good for anyone under 25 too for a work day. Thanks to Sheena for requesting this review and I hope you all enjoyed!

Recommendation: If you love cute packaging and fruity scents, this one’s for you!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Review: DuWop Twilight Venom Blush

Hey girls! So as I told all of you, I saw Vampires Suck last Saturday and this Edward had more of a subtle bright lip. I’m assuming he was using the DuWop Twilight Venom Blush. It’s a more subtle version of the DuWop Twilight Venom which is a shocking red shade. This one released in the end of June 2010 and is available at Sephora stores and Sephora’s website as well as DuWop’s site. It retails for $16 for .1 oz. of product. It also has a doe foot applicator. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-It doesn’t sting and subtly plumps your lips.
-It doesn’t look as bright as red; it looks more like a hot pink.
-Its shimmery, not completely matte which I like and the payoff is great since it lasts for approximately 8 hours.
-The stain is not that drying and is really pigmented.

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: I’ve work this every day since I got it and I’ve got to say that it was amazing. I really like it. Since I don’t use many lip stains this one really wowed me. It’s a bit pricy, but it’s not a problem because if you save up for it and make good use for it then it’s really worth the $16. If you don’t want it for plumping purposes then it’s a good product. It doesn’t plump much so I don’t think it will be that helpful for those purposes. The size of it is small so you might want to use it sparingly. I hope all of you enjoyed this review!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes; for long lasting color you will really want to get this.

Review: Advanced Beauty Tools 4 Piece Chrome Brush Set

Hey girls! Since I started this blog, I only reviewed one brush set that I really liked. Since then I haven’t yet found a brush set that I really like. It’s called the Advanced Beauty Tools Brush Set. It comes with an eye shadow brush, an angled eye liner brush, a blush brush, and a powder brush. All the bristles are NuFibre bristles (a substitution for animal hair) and the handles are chrome finished. It also comes with a brush roll. This is one of their cheaper starter kits which retails for $73.50. I’ll review each brush one by one and then I’ll review the entire set in general. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

ABT Powder Brush: This brush is ultra soft. It doesn’t shed and picks up the right amount of setting powder for full coverage without a cakey look. I absolutely love it.

ABT Blush Brush: This brush is also soft and didn’t shed. It picks up enough blush without looking overdone, but it does “soak” up most of the color so you have to

ABT Eye shadow Brush: As most of these brushes are, this also doesn’t shed and is super soft. It picks up color nicely and works amazingly.

ABT Eye liner Brush: This is probably my least favorite brush out of all of the brushes. It’s really flared out so I don’t think it would be good for precision
lining. I do like it thought, but I use it for outer corner color.

Pro(s):
-The brushes are extremely soft and didn’t shed.
-They are affordable (compared to 4 MAC brushes of the same purpose).
-You get a nice brush roll to hold all of your brushes.

Con(s):
-The brush handles are heavier than average brush handles.
-The brushes smell when you first get them (like the new shoes smell), but it goes away after a couple of washes.

Overall review: I think everything about these brushes is perfect. Their shed factor, their softness, and everything else you can think of. The only two complaints I have are that the brush handle is a bit too heavy so I can’t have control over it since its in such a weird shape and also that the brushes smell when you first get them. I don’t mind it, but people who hate the smell of new shoes might be offended by it. It’s like a rubbery scent. I feel that this is perfect for beginners who want professional quality brushes. Yes, there are other brush brands out there, but I find that these are the softest! Thanks for reading and I hope all of you enjoy!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : If you don’t want to invest too much in MAC brushes, these are comparable quality.

Review: Pandora's Makeup Box Eye Lid Primer

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Pandora’s Makeup Box eye primer. A lot of you asked me why “One Girl’s Passion for Makeup” doesn’t review enough eye primers so today I will be filling that hole. It retails for $20 on their website (link will be in the side bar). It claims to “never be too greasy for an oily eyelid and never too creamy for a dry eyelid”. It was created by a Canadian makeup artist names Susan Kirsch. She wanted to create an eco-friendly line of products that are good for the environment. Let’s see what I feel about this primer!

Pro(s):
-It’s creamy and is best for dry eyelids.
-It makes my shadow last for 8 hours.
-It doesn’t make my eye shadow crease.
-It works well as a concealer too and it comes in a removable pan.
-It provides a matte finish ad comes in an eco-friendly box.
-The packaging doesn’t make the primer dry out and its magnetized, thus self closing.

Con(s):
-It makes my eye shadow fade in 8 hours.

Overall review: I find that this product makes my oily eyelids shinier and it makes my eye shadow fade away easily. That’s why I think this best for the winter time. It is creamy enough for dry eyes in the winter. I also tried this as an under eye concealer and it actually works pretty well. It didn’t settle into my fine lines and gave a matte finish. It doesn’t look ashy when I put it on my eyelids too. In my experience, it evened out my skin tone on my eye lid and the shadow I was wearing was completely faded in 7 hours. It doesn’t crease and create creases on your eyelid.

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, it’s a great alternative to the original UDPP.

Review: DuWop Private Nude and Private Plum Lipsticks

Hey girls! So you all know that we’re transitioning from Summer to Fall and we have different fall trends like nude lips and dramatic eyes or luminous neutral skin and dramatic lips. I think that’s why it’s the perfect time for DuWop to add to their private lipstick collection. Last year, their famous Private Red lipstick launched and for fall 2010, they’re launching another two shades in their line. Those two shades are called Private Nude and Private Plum. They will retail for $22 each and will be available in September 2010 at Sephora stores and Sephora’s site. Keep reading to see what I think about this product!

Pro(s):
-It’s moisturizing and leaves a nice stain.
-It glides on like butter and stays for a total of 6-7 hours.
-It’s really opaque in one coat and it stays on for 2 hours and after that it’s just a nice stain.

Con(s):
-It does dry my lips a bit, but it’s nothing that lip balm can’t fix.

Overall review: For some reason I think that DuWop doesn’t get enough recognition because their lipsticks are amazing. The thing with a matte or moisturizing lipstick is that it stays on like a balm, but what if you can find a lipstick that transforms from a lipstick to a stain without the cracked lips feel. I think if you like moisturizing lipsticks with a stain, this is perfect. The only thing is that the shade range is a bit limited. Last year, there was only one shade and this year they are introducing two more. These lipsticks claim to be shade adjusting, but I didn’t notice anything like that. I just noticed that the nude shade didn’t wash me out and make me look like a ghost. Also, they plum shade doesn’t look old-lady like on me which is sort of adjusting. Thanks to Jenna for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed this review!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, if you can shell out $22 for an amazing quality lipstick.

Review: Britney Spears Circus Fantasy Eau De Parfum Spray

Hi girls! Everyone remember this song? I absolutely love Britney Spears Circus song. I just love the beat and everything about it. So when I heard that she was coming out with a fragrance to go with it, I was really intrigued. I thought that it just might be like the song, really bubbly and young. That just how I felt after smelling the scent. It retails for $57.50 for 3.3 fl oz. They can be found on Elizabeth Arden's website (link in the side bar). Keep reading for my thoughts on this product!

Scent Description: When you first spray it, you smell sugary raspberries. After the dry down, you smell raspberries mixed with candy with hints of apricot. Towards the end, you smell all of the stuff above plus vanilla which I love!

Packaging: It is boxed in a light blue box mixed with yellow and red as well as dark blue. When you open the box, there’s a huge picture of Britney Spears the way she looked in her circus music video. The bottle is light blue with red faux gems on it.

Wear time: I get about a full working day of wear which is about 6 hours. Towards the end, only you can smell it on yourself, and in the first couple of hours other can smell it on yourself.

Overall review: I absolutely love this fragrance. I know I don’t have much to say about this fragrance except for “WOW”. It seems like the perfect blend of berries with a touch of sugary candy for me. I think it’s just perfect for people who love berried and candy. The bottle’s packaging is also really cute. Plus, I love Britney Spears (minus the baby incident). I just don’t have enough words to describe it. Thanks to Cecelia for requesting this review and I hope you all enjoyed!

Recommendation: For people who love berries and candy, this is a must have for 6 hour wear on a workday!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Review: Go Girl Female Urination Device

Hey girls! I don’t know about you, but don’t any of you ever feel like using the bathroom when you’re in the middle of nowhere? Well, I’ve got this amazing product to review today that will help you use the bathroom without getting everything everywhere. It’s called the Go Girl Female Urination Device. It retails for $9.99 on their site and is a reusable urination device. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-It helps you use the bathroom even in the weirdest of places.
-It easy to use and doesn’t splatter all over the place.
-It’s easy to use and good to travel with.

Con(s):
-It would get really dirty if you used it during “that” time of the month.

Overall review: I actually love the idea of a female urination device because as a kid, I used to go to those forest-like parks where there are bathrooms, but they’re really unsanitary. I’ve used it numerous times at places like Wendy’s and Dunkin Donuts where the bathrooms are dirty. I know this is a really weird thing to discuss, but I think that this product will be helpful to women all over the word. After all it’s only $9.99. It’s also made of medical grade silicone which doesn’t cause bacteria. I always remember to rinse it using detergent (dish soap) and luke warm water. Well, thanks for reading and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Of course, it’s definitely worth the $9.99.

Review: Mariah Carey Lollipop Bling Honey Eau De Parfum Spray

Hi girls! So this month I got the latest issue of Lucky magazine and guess who had a fragrance ad on like the 10th page? Mariah Carey. She released her newest Lollipop Bling fragrance collection (as being part of Elizabeth Arden fragrances) this month and it’s really got all the teens talking. It’s very attractive with lollipops and candy everywhere. She got the idea when Nick Cannon proposed to her with a custom made ring pop. She released 3 fragrances in this collection and one of them, I’ll be reviewing today. It’s called Honey names after one of her songs. It retails for $35 for 1 fl. oz. It is currently available at Macy’s, but soon next year before Valentine’s Day will be hitting drugstores with a cutesy display right next to the ring pops. They can also be found on Elizabeth Arden's website (link in the side bar). Keep reading to see my thoughts on this perfume!

Scent Description: When you first spray it, you get a fruity (but not too sweet) blast of pineapple. After the dry down, you get notes of mango and lemon juice (not sour, more like a sweet lemon candy) as well as sheer freesia (the one you get at Bath and Body Works).

Packaging: The perfume comes enclosed in a yellow box with pictures of candy all over it. The bottle itself is an egg shaped glass bottle tinted yellow with a plastic butterfly cap.

Wear time: I get about 8 hours of wear with this perfume. When you spray it on, people around you can smell it for about 5 hours as well as yourself, but after the 5th hours, only you can smell it (if you spray it on your wrists or décolleté like me).

Overall review: It’s ultra wearable for anyone under 25 (because the majority doesn’t work). Since, I’m under that gap, I find it wearable and the boy also likes it. The fragrance collection is targeted for girls ranging from 13-18 so I think it’s more of a young fragrance. I don’t think my 70 year old grandma can pull this fragrance off. Since I’ve told you numerous times, I like fruity and sweet fragrances and this is exactly that, I love it! Thanks to Angel for requesting this review and thanks for reading!

Recommendation: If you’re into fruity fragrances, or you just collect celebrity fragrances, this one is a must have in your collection!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Review: Pandora's Makeup Box Face Powder

Hey girls! Today I saw the Twilight parody movie Vampires Suck and I’ve got to say that the Edward in Vampires Suck was hotter than the one in Twilight. He kept my attention during the entire movie other than the actors’ makeup. So, I’ve seen that all of the vampires have this amazing flawless, matte, white skin (but Edward’s under eye concealer was creasing LOL). I am assuming it was airbrush + amazing cosmetics concealer + tons of MAC Studio Fix powder, but now you can get equally matte skin with the Pandora’s Makeup Box Face Powder. This powder comes in a range of shades for $26 (I have shade #5) which won’t seem too expensive if you’re used to buying MAC. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Its smooth to apply and gives wonderful matte coverage.
-Doesn’t look caked on and doesn’t make me break out.
-The packaging is adorable and great for teens too.
-I get about 8 hour wear before all the powder is worn out and my skin is oily again.

Con(s):
-It doesn’t keep you matte all day (touch-up necessary).

Overall review: Up till 2 weeks ago, I relied on my MAC Studio Fix Powder. Now I rely on my Pandora’s Makeup Box Powder. It works great for dry or oily skin, but dry skin will stay matte longer than oily skin. I think it’s greatly pigmented. Now normally, for face product I don’t venture out of my normal MAC, Hourglass, or Senna, but since this hasn’t made me break out and has done wonders on my skin, I would go ahead and purchase it again. I absolutely love the packaging and the fact that you can take the pan out and put it in your UNII or Z-Palette is great. If you're a sucker for packaging and quality, this is for you. Thanks to Alyssa for requesting this review and thanks for reading!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yeah, if you can afford the MAC Studio Fix Powder than don’t make an excuse to not buying this!

Review, Product Pictures, and Swatches: OPI Go Goth Collection for Halloween 2010

Sometimes it feels like companies are too quick in coming out with their collections. I mean, we’re not even done with summer and fall collections are coming out already. Amidst all of these collections, OPI decided to release its Halloween collection in the beginning of September. Now, I’m not gonna snore because Halloween happens to be my most favorite holiday. Just the thought of getting free candy and dressing up makes me want to piss in my pants. I think that candy is the best gift in the world. So, this year’s collection is called Go Goth and it comes with 4 OPI minis is ghoulish shades as well as a free lace cuff bracelet. The entire set will retail for $12.50. All of the colors are minis which means that they are 1/8 Fl. oz. Now, I’ve heard many things about how the minis are heard to work with, but I think that those people are definitely crazy. I have small nails (as you can tell by the swatches) and the brush is perfect for it. I also love the drying time and they pigmentation of a OPIs and these are no different. They are the exact same as full size OPIs, but these are tinier. I personally think it is too cute that they’re so mini that you can fit them in your pocket. With these, I got chip free wear for 5 days until the tips started wearing off somewhat. The shades came out just like they were described, but let me describe them in my own words again.

-Unripened: A black shade with green glitter. In the swatches, I used 2 coats.
-Nevermore: A black shade with purple glitter. In the swatches, I used 2 coats.
-Sanguine: A dark red with black shimmer. In the swatches I also used 2 coats.
-Obscurity: A matte black shade. In the swatches, I used 2 coats.

So, I don’t have to complain about any of the shades. They were excellent quality and they work really nicely with nails of any size (I used on my mom and she has huge nails). So, here are the swatches and more product pictures. Thanks for reading!

Enjoy!
