Review: NYX Winter in Moscow Silver Gray Smokey Look Palette

Hey girls! So for concluding the month of July, I will review the last product that I got that NYX released for the summer/fall time. It’s called the NYX Winter in Moscow Silver Gray Smokey Look Palette. In this $19.50 set, you get 2 blushes, 5 sheer lip glosses, and 14 shadows. The first blush is a soft baby pink which is matte and the second blush is a pinky dark coral with gold shimmers (it reminded me of NARS Orgasm). The shadows include several grays (both shimmer and glittery), a matte white, and several shades of black. The glosses are sheer and range in shades from clear base with gold glitter to a sheer mauve color. You can find these palettes on their website. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-The glosses are sheer and pair up nicely with the looks you can get by using the shadows.
-The shadows are nicely pigmented, last about 5-7 hours and are smooth when applied.
-The blushes are pigmented, lasted an entire working day on me and you don’t need that much for a flush of color.
-It’s very affordable and budget friendly!

Con(s):
-Since the powders and glosses are together, the glosses can get easily contaminated so you would have to keep the plastic in.
-There’s quite some fallout from some of the velvety shadows.

Overall review: I absolutely love this set especially because I’m a collector of palettes and this seems to be the best value. It's only $19.50 and you get amazingly pigmented shadows and blushes not to forget the glosses. I’m not being too picky about the glosses because they’re not meant to be super pigmented. They just look great with the looks you would make because for smokey looks, you’re always supposed to pair it up with a light lip and blush the colored that is provided in the palette. The shadows are very smooth, but you get tons of fallout so you might want to get some shadow shields. Thee blushes are ultra pigmented so you just need a little bit to get color. I overall love this palette and I hope you all can get in on this offer!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : I think it’s a great idea and best for girls on a budget!

Mini-Reviews: Honeycat Cosmetics Products

Hey girls! So, I come to you today with my series of mini-reviews. I had some Honeycat Cosmetics’ products for a while now that I wanted to share the quality and everything with you, but was too lazy to make different posts about. So today, I’m targeting all of those products and reviewing every product. Their retail values will all be in their reviews so look out for that and the link to purchase the items will be in the sidebar. Thanks again for reading!

My review (by product):
-Rub My Tummy, Milk and Honey Hand and Body Cream: This retails for $12 for 6 oz and comes housed in a medium sized tub. It’s very thin in consistency, absorbs quickly, and eaves your hands feeling hydrated, soft, smooth, and smelling sweet like honey mainly. I have no complaints about it and I think it’s worth the $12.

-Chick of the Sea Foaming Bath Crystals: These come in a tin (like the tins that anchovies or sardines come in) and retails for $10. It’s supposed to be one time use, but I’ve saved it up and used it in 2 separate baths. They foam up really nicely in warm water and contain essential oils that leave my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I just wish that for the price, they gave more product.

-Whisker Slicker I’m in Heat Lip Balm: This lip balm comes in a chap stick-like container and retails for $6. It smells like cinnamon and tastes sweet. It really moisturizes your lips since they’re so much vitamin E in it. It feels warm and sort of tingling on your lips when you first apply, but it eventually subsides. I think that this is by far the best product I’ve ever tried by them!

-Frisky Kitty Bath Time Fizzy (bath bombs): One bath bomb is $10 and they have four different scents from oatmeal to rose and lemongrass. You are supposed to use on bath bomb per bath, but I cut it in half and I get two uses out of it. It has lots of essential oil and smells great so it moisturizes while giving you a calming spa experience.

Rating (by product):
-10/10 :)
-9/10
-10/10 :)
-10/10 :)

Would I recommend any of these? : Well, my personal faves are the lip balm and the bath bomb so think about investing in them!

Review: Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Solid Perfume

Hi girls! Today I’ll be reviewing a new product from Pacifica. The product itself isn’t new, but the scent is. It’s called Hawaiian Ruby Guava. They come in 18 scents and retails for $9 each at Whole Foods stores, Sephora, and e-tailers. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Scent Description: “The sweet berry-like notes of guava mingle with the warm scent of coconut surf wax. Paradise found.” I agree with the description, but I don’t smell the coconut. It’s just mostly sweet guava and some sort of beach-y scent.

Packaging: This solid perfume from Pacifica come housed in a cute box that you can pull out to get the box that contains the tin. It’s a pink tin with the solid scent in it. It contains .33 oz of product.

Wear time: I won’t be too picky with this because it’s not an eau de toilette (which are supposed to last longer), but it lasted for about 1 ½ hours to 2 hours which really isn’t that bad. By 2 hours, it had completely faded from my wrists and I didn’t even wash my hands in between.

Overall review: I think that Pacifica products are really affordable. Since this tin is so cute and tiny, it’s portable. You can even keep it in your bra for when you go clubbing and no one will notice it (but it might melt though lol). The solid perfume isn’t too soft in consistency or too hard to the touch and applies easily like oil. Since it’s made of coconut and soy wax, it’s really organic and natural. It’s also eco-friendly with no preservatives and on top of that, its vegan. Which girl wouldn’t want one of these cute little tins!

Recommendation: I would recommend this to anybody. At just $9 a tin, it’s a luxury everybody can afford!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Review: Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser Dry/Sensitive

Hey girls! Today I will be fulfilling a reader’s request. She actually has been asking for this review forever. Well, here it is Julianne. I’m reviewing the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturizer for dry/sensitive skin. It contains tons of natural and essential oils. They have two types a packaging available. You can get 1.6 fl oz of product for $31 in a jar or tube. You can also buy multi packs off of their website. Keep reading to see why I’ve been worshipping it ever since I got it!

Pro(s):
-Moisturizes well and contains natural oils such as avocado oil.
-Doesn’t test on animals nor does it contain animal extracts.
-Protects skin and absorbs quickly with no greasy feeling.
-A little bit will take you a long way.

Con(s):
-The scent bothers me because it’s so botanical, but others might like it so it’s a matter of personal preference.

Overall review: I really like this moisturizer since it’s great for dry/sensitive skin. I actually mix my foundation with it for the days that I don’t feel like using a heavy foundation and those days, people say my skin in glowing. I think it’s because of all the naturally active ingredients in it like avocado oil and natural vitamin E. Those ingredients are really good for the skin and if your moisturizer has them, you’re a lucky lady. Te thing I like most is that they have a tube available and a jar so whoever likes digging their fingers in their moisturizer, there something for you too. For all of you other germophobes, there is a tube with the exact amount the jar has and for the same price. I think the price might bother some people, but if you can pay so much for MAC Strobe Cream, then you should definitely get this. Thanks to Julianne for requesting this review and thanks for reading!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, for really damaged dry skin, this is the way to go!

Review: Olivella All Natural Virgin Olive Oil Moisturizer

Hey girls! Today feels like it’s taking forever. First I went to the Post Office and then I went grocery shopping. Well, I don’t want to bore you with my boring day so let’s get on with today’s first review. I will be reviewing the Olivella All Natural Virgin Oil Moisturizer. It comes in a glass pump bottle with 1.69 fl oz. of product for $21. It’s multi-purpose oil that’s supposed to acts as moisturizing oil for the entire body. Keep reading to find out whether it’s worth buying or not!

Pro(s):
-It moisturizes my elbows and didn’t make me break out when I used this on my face.
-It’s great to apply in your hair before you wash it for extra conditioning in a dry scalp.
-Its great to use as a night time moisturizer since all the oil will sink in and the anti-aging properties of it will go to work.
-One bottle will last you a long time and this doesn’t smell odd!
-It's paraben free (paraben was found in cancer patients).

Con(s):
-I think you can live with using normal olive oil.

Overall review: I think that this is a product for people who can afford it. If you think that you really need it then get it, but if you can just buy extra virgin olive oil in your grocery store, then this isn’t worth buying. If you cannot afford to shell out $21 for an ounce or two of oil, then don’t get this. I think that people who mainly buy high end products might find it in their price range. For me thought, I don’t think I would repurchase it since I have more than enough olive oil in my house. Well, thanks to Shelly for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : If you’re a girl on a budget, opt out for normal olive oil instead!

Review: Bodycology Body Splash

Hi girls! In these economical situations, don’t you think you can get more bang for your buck? Well, thanks to companies like Bodycology; girls like us can definitely get a bang for our buck. Today I will be reviewing a body splash by Bodycology in the scent cucumber melon. It retails for $4.99 wherever Bodycology products are available so I suggest all of you gals go and raid your local grocery store. Keep reading for my thoughts on this product!

Scent Description: The scent is described as fresh cucumber and melon that mingle to make a sheer freesia of a cool, crisp scent. I would totally have to agree. I would say that it smells more melon-y than cucumber, but that’s just me.

Packaging: It comes in an 8oz. bottle just like the Bath and Body Works Body Splashes. The product itself is colored to look like the shade of the scent it describes. For example, this one is light green tinged.

Wear time: Since body splashes aren’t meant to be worn for long, I won’t be too picky with this part, but on me it wore for an hour to an hour and half. You can still smell it an hour later, but it’s definitely subdued and not really noticeable form a distance.

Overall review: I love body splashes and this one is my favorite since it’s very affordable and simply amazing. I had also said in a previous post that these can beat Bath and Body Works any day if they expanded their line of products. Who wouldn’t want to get a hold of a bottle at their insanely low price of $4.99? You know that the money you invest in one bottle from Bath and Body Works, you can use that money to buy two bottle of this stuff. I just think that whoever created Bodycology was definitely smart and sophisticated. Well, thanks to Angelia for requesting this review and I hope y’all enjoyed!

Recommendation: For gals on a budget or not, go and grab this at your local A&P!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Review: Senna Sheer Mineral Makeup SPF 20

Hey girls! So, in spirit of summer, I will be reviewing the Senna Cosmetics Sheer Mineral Makeup SPF 20 because people always want good coverage with SPF without having a white cast often triggered by using sunscreen. This has all of those benefits plus others. Its fragrance free, lightweight, and hypoallergenic. It retails for $36 on their site as well as other retailers. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Stays on for 5-7 hours depending on weather.
-Moisturizes and doesn’t oxidize easily.
-It gives great coverage while containing SPF 20.

Con(s):
-The product contains lots of shimmer and cannot be calmed down although it won’t be that noticeable after a while.
-A bit pricey.

Overall review: This product is really good for all skin types, but best of all, it’s best for oily skin types because it’s oil-free itself. I really liked it since it was waterproof and it withstood my bride’s tears (the one whose makeup I did). I think that it’s a bit pricey, but it’s a pretty good deal because you only need a pea sized amount. When I applied this, it felt like I didn’t have any makeup on. I actually like all of those qualities in makeup. Thanks to Jen for requesting this review and I hope all of my other readers enjoyed!

Rating: 9/10 The shimmer made the rating go down.

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, but if shimmer bothers you, go for their matte foundation.

Review: Marie Louise Moisturizing Toner

Hey girls! So, I bet rarely you bump into a toner which is super moisturizing and still removes excess sebum? Well, the product I’m reviewing today is everything I just described the perfect toner and more. It’s called the Marie Louise Moisturizing. It mixes hydrolyzed yeast and desalted deep sea water to remove excess sebum and makeup while moisturizing your face to keep your skin glowing in a natural way. You can purchase it on their site (link will be in the sidebar) for $81 which might seem a lot, but keep reading to see why it’s worth it!

Pro(s):
-It removes excess makeup while not drying out your skin.
-It conditions and won’t leave a film like other toners.
-Fragrant perfume-y smell that won’t irritate sensitive skin.

Con(s):
-A bit pricey, but worth it (pro?)!

Overall review: I didn’t have to rinse my face after using the tones because it doesn’t leave a sticky film. $81 might seem like a lot, but it’s actually worth it. I’ve been using this since April and it really transformed my skin. It part of my daily face routine now sine it’s really conditioning. It doesn’t dry out my skin like Clinique’s toner. Since its professional skincare, I don’t think you would need to get a facial because ever since I’ve used this, my esthecian has seen an improvement in my skin. I don’t break out that often either. It’s only once in a while testing out products. Oh yeah, and one bottle will last you forever! Thanks to Lola for requesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, totally worth the $81!

Review: new Bodycology Hand and Body Lotion

So girls, don’t all of you think that you won’t need a moisturizer in the summer since your skin already produces so much oil? Well what you don’t know is that being out in the sun evaporates all the moisture from your skin. For times like these, I love using Bodycology’s Hand and Body Lotion. It’s available in 10 scents for different noses and will only cost you $4.99. The entire Bodycology line ranges from $.99 to $4.99 so it’s a really affordable line. You can find this on their site as well as other retailers. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very affordable since it will only set you back $4.99.
-Very moisturizing and the scent will last a god 3-4 hours.
-Its feels lightweight and non-greasy.

Con(s):
-I wish it had some SPF!

Overall review: This moisturizer is great for the summer since its lightweight and doesn’t feel greasy or oily. That’s one of my pet peeves when a lotion is oily and feels slick. I just hate that, but thankfully this isn’t like that. The scent I have is in Vanilla Cupcake and it smells exactly like it. I love sweet scents as I might have said in a previous review so I love this. I think that if this company came out with more products then it will be better than Bath & Body Works. Thanks to Jamie for requesting this review and I hope all of my viewers enjoyed this!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, especially since its so affordable and high quality!

Review: Pacifica Hawaiian Ruby Guava Perfume

Hi girls! Lately I’ve been getting into a lot of fragrances because I’m discovering new companies who make great perfumes. One of them is Pacifica which I will be reviewing today. They made a wide assortment of body butters, perfumes, solid perfumes, and body washes. They have a total of 18 scents ranging from fruity scents to wood-y scents that has something for every nose. Their perfumes are made from grain alcohol which is the purest available and contain natural and essential oils. They can be found on their website as well as other retails such as Sephora and Whole Foods Stores.

Scent Description: It’s described on the site and on the box as being “scented with sweet berry-like notes of guava, a symbol of passion, and arm coconut, surfboard wax. This blend is pure paradise.” I totally agree. If I had to describe it in my own word, it smells fruity and sweet like guava and as the perfume dries, it turns into a wearable beach-y scent.

Packaging: It comes in a cute little box that has really attractive designs. It will definitely catch your eye anywhere. It has little designs of flowers found in Hawaii on it as well as the bottle. The bottle is clear glass and holds 1.2 ounces of product. Surprisingly, I thought I lost the cap, but it’s not meant to have one. How great, one less thing to worry about!

Wear time: I applied it on my wrists and me décolleté area. I could smell it for about an hour and then it stayed on my wrists for about 2 ½ hours. Since it’s a perfume, it not meant to last super long like over 5 hours, but I can still smell it a bit after 5 hours of wear. I also washed my hand 3-4 times in between so it might last longer when not washing your hands.

Overall review: I love this scent to death. I love guava and sweet fruity scents. Since it’s not that expensive at $22, this is an affordable luxury that won’t break the bank. Since their perfumes are vegan and don’t contain artificial colors or animal ingredients and don’t test on animals, these perfumes are a big plus for animal fanatics like myself. Thanks for reading and keep requesting!

Recommendation: This is an affordable luxury must have for anyone who “digs” fruity and sweet scents like me. I think this is the perfect beachy scent!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Review: NYX Matte Smokey Look One Night in Morocco

Hey girls! There are so many new products being released for summer and fall and I’m getting really excited on reviewing everything, but let’s do this one step at a time. Today’s review will be on the newly released NYX Matte Smokey Look One Night in Morocco Palette. It features 8 eye shadows, an eye shadow base, and four sheer lip glosses. It retails for $15 on their website and Cherry Culture as well as Ulta stores and various other places that carry NYX Cosmetics. Now, let’s get on with the review!

Pro(s):
-The shadow base helps the shadows stay on for about 5 hours when I used it.
-The shadows are greatly pigmented, smooth, and you get little to not fallout when using them. The base helps them stick on.
-The lip colors are very sheer and nice if used on top of a lipstick. They can be used on their own since they’re meant to be sheer.

Con(s):
-Since the powders are with the shadow base, the base will get discolored and powdery.
-The pull out lip gloss palette seems childish.

Overall review: I overall really like the idea of this amazing palette. You get four smoky colors and four neutral shades that you can use to do a smoky brown neutral look. Since all of the shades are matte, they’re very pigmented and the formula is so smooth and buttery/velvety so you don’t get much fallout if any. The only thing was that the lip glosses look super pigmented in the palette, but they actually turn out to be really sheer. I think that this is a great palette for people on a budget or people who love makeup all together. I think that all high-end and low-end buyers will be attracted to this palette. I hope everyone enjoyed and more reviews will be coming soon!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : A great buy for people on a budget!

Review: Cutesy Girl Shoes and Accessories

Hey girls! Today I will be doing my second fashion review. My review this time will consist of shoes and accessories. CutesyGirl.com was nice enough to give me a gift card to get anything on their site. I picked out a pair of flats, boots, and a ring. This website has affordable and high quality clothes that you can conveniently buy without getting out of the house. They have everything from swimsuits to lingerie. With a wide range of clothes and accessories, they might just become the online version of Forever 21. Keep reading to see my 2 cents on all of the products I got!

My review (by product):
-Modern Floral Ring: This ring is only $12.99 and so chic and great for any occasion. The site specializes in clothing and accessories for clubbing and I think this is great for that. It’s a stretchy band so for people with chubby fingers, this will thankfully fit them. It won’t come off skinny fingers either.

-Wild Diva Sweetly 39 Flats: At a sale price of $9.99, this offer is hard to pass up. They come in a variety of colors. The color I had were black and I wore them to school for about 3 months straight (except maybe once a week and on weekends) and I definitely wore them out. They sort of ripped from the side, but I got good wear out of them. They’re made of canvas and it’s not the strongest, but for the price, it’s a great deal.

-Wild Diva Reva20 Black Suede Boots: These have a heel of about 2 inches and retail for $19.99. They’re really wearable for everyday in the winter or even if you live in a cold climate. They will keep you looking stylish while having your feet hold on to something snug. I think they’re a great buy, but the size I got sort of squishes my feet. I got half a size too small so I wore them a couple of times when I went to meet the boy’s parents for some extra height boost (I’m 5’2” and he’s 5’11”).

Rating (by product):
-10/10 :)
-9/10 (Because they ripped)
-9.5/10

Would I recommend any of these? : Of course. I am in love with the boots since
they’re great for the winter and I just love the ring since it’s chic, stylish, and stretchable for people with chubby fingers like me!

Review: Motives Cosmetics Nail Enamel

Hey girls! So this is part two of the Motives Cosmetics Nail Enamel review. This part is the actual nail review. So each bottle can be purchased at their website (link in the side) for $5.25. They have different formulas of polishes from sheer to glitter to crème. Well, I don’t have much more to say so let’s get on with the actual review!

Pro(s):
-The polishes are 3-free and very affordable.
-The formula is smooth and not goopy or anything. No complaints on the formula!
-The polish won’t really chip; just at the tips.

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: I love these polishes. They’re so luxe feeling although they will only set you back a mere $5. The thing that I really liked about these polishes was the packaging. This product is best for girls on a budget. I’ve also heard certain rumors that this company has the same manufacturer as MAC. I don’t know though so I'll update you guys on that. The top of the bottle though it made of the same rubber-y plastic that’s on NARS packaging. Well, I hope all of you enjoyed and thanks for reading!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Definitely, since it’s not more expensive than a
drugstore polish!

Motives Cosmetics Nail Candy Nail Enamel Part 1: Product Pictures and Swatches

Hey girls! Today I will be sharing product pictures and swatches of Motives Cosmetics Nail Enamel. They have about a dozen colors and some of them are new and recently added. The ones shown here aren’t all new. Only Laguna Beach and Tickle Me Pink are new for the summer, but I Believe in UFO’s is an original shade. The shades I have here are the top 3 nail enamel colors. Here are the shade descriptions:

-Tickle Me Pink: This is a peachy light baby pink glitter shade which has silver glitter. It’s really sheer so you probably will need more than 3 coats, but here I used 3 coats.
-Laguna Beach: This is a frosty teal blue color with teal green duo chrome. It took me 3 coats to get it this opaque.
-I Believe in UFO’s: This is a dark hot pink frost shade. For the color to be opaque you only need 2 coats and that’s how many I used.

Enjoy the swatches and product pictures and review coming soon!

Review: NEW NYX Studio Liquid Liner

Hey girls! Today I will be reviewing a new product by NYX Cosmetics and it’s called the NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner. It’s a new product for the summer and released in July. It’s already making appearances at e-tailers such as http://CherryCulture.com and http://NYXCosmetics.com where they retail for $4.50 a piece. These liquid liners were created for dramatic and intense color. There are currently12 shades available from Extreme Black to Extreme Pink. The shades shown in the pictures are Extreme Coffee, Extreme Blue, and Extreme Purple. Let’s see if they live up to what they claim!

Pro(s):
-Very pigmented and intense color.
-Fine brush applicator so it’s easy to make thin or thick lines.
-They have a huge range of shades available (have you ever heard any company have PINK eye liner).
-I got about 6-7 hours of wear with these.

Con(s):
-It’s easily rubbed off when wet thus it’s not sweat proof.

Overall review: I really like these. They also have a pink liquid liner which is amazing. They wear great and I like their fine brush tip applicator. I used this on the bride when I went to a wedding this weekend and she never needed only one touchup. The thing that was a downfall was that they aren’t waterproof. When I went to shower, I forgot these were on my eyelids and lower lash line and I rubbed my eyes. I got scared because I saw blue rubbery pieces coming off of my face and when I looked in the mirror, the liquid liner was PEELING off. Well, other than that, they’re a great bang for your buck and I suggest them to everybody. The rating just goes down because of the peeling. Thanks to Arianna for requesting and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Why not? If you’re a girl on a budget, these are amazing for their prize!

Review: Seed Grape Seed Enriched Moisturizing Soap

Hey girls! Long time no blog. Well at least it felt like that. Today I will be reviewing an affordable and exfoliating soap. It’s called the Seed Grape Seed Enriched Moisturizing Body Soap. It retails for $4.49 at their online store and at Whole Food stores. They have two different scents available; unscented and invigorating citrus thyme. They have strawberry, apricot, and pomegranate seeds in it to exfoliate. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Not abrasive at all and very affordable.
-Moisturizing and doesn’t leave any scum.
-I wasn’t allergic to it and I have really sensitive skin.

Con(s):
-The organic scent may annoy sensitive noses.

Overall review: I really like this soap since it’s really moisturizing and naturally exfoliating. I looked at the soap and thought that it was going to hurt, but then I used it for up to a month and a half at it actually felt massaging in some way. It’s also organic and very affordable. When I got it, I thought it was probably very expensive since it does a really good job. It just smells very organic which people might not like and that’s why they made an unscented version. It has grape seed oil in it which is the moisturizing agent. I really like this and would recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin or anyone else who wants a good exfoliating soap. Thanks to Rina for requesting this review and I hope everyone enjoyed!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, go grab it NOW!
