Review: SKIN1 By Dr. Gram Clarifying Cleanser

Hey girls! So lately I feel like I’m reviewing a lot of stuff that’s skin related. Well, I can’t help but pay attention to products that help me clear my skin. I recently got the chance to try out a product by Dr. Gram. He’s a pharmacist with his own skincare line. They make cleansers, toners, masks, and moisturizers which help different skin types maintain their skin. I tried the clarifying cleanser which is meant to gently clean skin and over time fade blemishes. It retails for $34 off of their website. Keep reading to see my thoughts on it!

Pro(s):
-This cleanser smells like lavender which isn’t too heavy of a scent.
-It doesn’t dry out my skin and prevents my break outs.
-I do think that some of my blemishes have faded.

Con(s):
-It may dry out your skin if you have dry skin.

Overall review: I think that this is a wonderful cleanser if you have a lot of acne blemishes. I personally think it’s best for normal to oily skin. Maybe dry skinned people might feel that this dries their skin up a bit. I do think it’s good for the summer time, but for the winter it may dry out your skin. I love that it doesn’t have any parabens or sulfates. I like everything about this product because it’s amazing. Thanks for reading and I appreciate all of your support!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : If you don’t have dry skin and want to get rid of blemishes then I would recommend this for you!

Review: Jeune D’Âge Organics Acne Cleanser

Hey girls! Have I ever told anyone of you that after puberty, I broke out more often. I never struggled, but I like keeping my skin clear and recently I have been testing out an amazing acne cleanser that has done wonders for my skin. It’s the Jeune D’Âge Organics Acne Cleanser ($19.95 for 1.7 oz.). It’s one of their new products that were released this year. It’s made of organic and all natural products. You can purchase it on their site. Keep reading!

Pro(s):
-The pump styled bottle is very hygienic and convenient.
-You only need a pump or two to do your entire face.
-It helps acne be gone within a couple of days of use.

Con(s):
-The scent is very strong (I think it smells like my doctor’s bathroom).

Overall review: I was actually very excited about using this product and it exceeded my expectations. I got 2 pimples on my forehead on Sunday and today one was dried out and the other one was gone. The only thing that some people might have a problem with is the scent. It’s really strong and it smells really clean in a chemical-ish way. I asked the owner about it and it is the scent of the lavender, chamomile, and tea tree oil as well as activated charcoal put together. The cleanser itself is black which may scare some people, but it’s just the charcoal. I absolutely love this cleanser. After two weeks of using, I can happily say that this product is great. I wouldn’t suggest it for major acne, but for people with a couple of pimples here and there, it’s great. It’s also all natural and organic which is great for the skin. Thanks to Anita for requesting this review and I hope all of my readers enjoyed. With all your support, more reviews will be coming soon!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, but for people with cystic acne, I suggest you get something from a dermatologist!

Review: Marie Louise Washing Foam

Hey girls! After all of my success with the skincare reviews, I’m yet again reviewing another company. I’ve reviewed it before, but I’ll be introducing a new product today. It’s called the Marie Louise Washing Foam. This retails for $51 off of the marielouisecosmetics.com. Basically, it’s a facial cleanser that removes everyday buildup of dirt, grime and bacteria. Keep reading to see my 2 cents on this product!

Pro(s):
-A little but goes a long way.
-You get a lot of product for the hefty price you pay.
-It removes dirt/grime and exfoliates.

Con(s):
-The price is very hefty!
-The smell of it might bother some people.

Overall review: Personally, I think that this is an okay cleanser. It does the job, buts sets you back about $50 which not everyone can afford in this recession, but if you want a spa feeling at home then buy this product. The smell is the only thing that threw me off other than the price. The smell is weird. I can’t even describe it, but most of you might be bothered by it. I do like this cleanser though. You only need one pump of this stuff to wash your entire face and then you will be able to feel squeaky clean. It literally made my face squeak when I used this cleanser. Well, that’s just my 2 cents on this product. I hope all of you enjoyed and more reviews coming soon!

Rating: 6/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : I definitely recommend this for people NOT on a budget!

Review: Marie Louise Clear Cleansing Gel

Hey girls! So, my finals are almost over so we don’t get any homework which means that I can focus more on the blog for the entire summer until I start residency. Today I’ll be reviewing the Marie Louise Cleansing Clear Gel. This product retails for $39 currently since it’s on discount for 31% off, but originally its $57.

Pro(s):
-Removes all makeup including waterproof and MAC Liquid last liner.
-Conditions the skin and leaves skin feeling clean.
-Thick consistency which thins out after rubbing in.

Con(s):
-When used on eyes, after rinsing, your vision is cloudy for a minute or two.

Overall review: I overall really love this product. Whenever I have super heavy makeup on, I used this and it gets rid of all of your makeup less than 5 minutes. It reminds me a lot of a thick gel cleansing oil because when you rub it into your skin, it thins out into a cleansing oil like MAC’s or NARS’ cleansing oils’ consistencies. I used it on my eyes too and it gets rid of stubborn makeup, especially MAC Liquid last liner which most of you might know takes forever to remove. It’s my Holy Grail makeup remover and you only need a little bit for your entire face. Thanks to Jessica for requesting this review and I thanks all of you for subbing and reading!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, but a hefty price tag!

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. The 3.3 oz. size that I own retails for $24.50 and comes with 2 muslin cloths. This is the starter kit that I have with a pump. You can purchase it online at lizearle.com. They have a site for the US and UK as well as Canada. Keep reading for more information!

Pro(s):
-Great makeup remover removes even waterproof mascara and removes full face makeup.
-Gently exfoliates and cleanses.
-Doesn’t leave my skin dry.
-The cleanser has a pump.

Con(s):
-None found during the testing of this product.

Overall review: I just love this cleanser. It like a thick cream that you massage all over your face and then take a damp, warm muslin cloth (provided in the kit) to remove the cleanser and your makeup comes off too. It’s very easy to use since it removes all the dirt, grime, and makeup. I can go to sleep peacefully everyday. I think that for the price and quantity, this is a great deal. You only need a pump to put all over your face (including eyes) and all of your makeup is removed. The cocoa butter in it moisturizes and is good for all types of skin. It made naturally and they don’t test on animals. I hope all of you enjoyed including Janice F. who requested it. Thanks a lot!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, I love this for everyday use!

Review: Marie Veronique Organics Exfoliating Cleanser

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Marie Veronique Organics exfoliating cleanser which is part of step one of their skincare (cleanse). It retails for $35 from mvorganics.com. It smells very organic and it brown with small black exfoliating beads. It comes packaged in a glass bottle without a pump. Keep reading to see my

Pro(s):
-It doesn’t dry out my skin, but at the same time I exfoliated very nicely.
-It doesn’t Clog my pores and make me break out.
-It smells amazing because it’s a very organic scent.

Con(s):
-No pump in the bottle.

Overall review: I really love this cleanser. The cool thing is that you can use this everyday without frying out your skin. It’s gentle on the skin without stripping your skin of its natural oils. This is universal for all skin types which makes it even better since more than one person can use it. The small beads do not irritate my skin at least, but it might work differently for you. The consistency is runny which isn’t that bad, but sometimes you might pour out more than you need so I suggest buying a separate pump or putting an old pump on it. I hope all of you enjoyed this review!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it VICKY approved? : Yes, I highly suggest getting this product!

Review: Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash

Hey girls! So, as I told you on Wednesday, Origins was giving out free cleansers and I got in on one of those. I gave in an old/empty bottle of toner for the free cleanser. I got the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. They sort of repackaged it for this limited time offer. The cap was made of 100% recycled plastic and the tube itself was 30% recycled plastic. In the picture above, it’s the same size as the normal cleansers because it is full sized. It had 5 oz. of product and it normally retails for $18.50 so that was a great deal. I’ve used it over 4 times since I got it so I can safely write up a review on it. Just to let you know, it’s white in case you were wondering how it looked. Keep reading to know more!

Pro(s):
-Washes away makeup without irritating the skin.
-Works on dry and oily skin as well as normal and combination.
-Neutral smell.
-Lathers a lot.
-A little bit goes a long way.
-Doesn’t dry out oily spots and oil up dry spots. It balances out the pH of your skin.

Con(s):
-No cons!

Overall review: I just love this cleanser. It’s just as good as the Clarasonic one I’m currently testing out. It doesn’t make my skin feel tight or anything after washing it and it doesn’t break me out. I personally think that this is perfect for any skin type because my father has combination skin, my mother has normal and so does my sister and it doesn’t bother any of their skin. Also my friend got in on the promotion and she used it and she didn’t have any irritation (she has sensitive and oily skin). The thing that I now like about Origins since I’ve never used this skincare before is that it’s all organic and paraben free. My friend’s mom is a real Origin addict. Whenever she goes to the counter, she has to come out with something and yesterday at the promotion, she purchased 2 night creams. I hope all of you enjoyed and if you want to submit any articles on your reviews on this, feel free to do so!

Rating: 9.5/10

Is it VICKY approved? : Yup, I hope to buy one for real as soon as I’m done with this.

Review: L'oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub

So, have you ever been in that situation where you’re looking at a cleanser in the drugstore and you think “Yeah like that’s supposed to deep clean”. Well think again. This post will be introducing the newest innovation in cleansing (from the drugstore). I was at Rite Aid a couple of days ago and I was looking around in the front of the makeup section where the new releases are and I was amazed to find quite a lot of awesome things. Now, I’m the type of person who does a lot of research before investing even 7 bucks into a makeup cleanser/remover or a makeup products and this was the biggest and best find since. L’Oreal has released many new products for spring 2010 and they have just started showing themselves in the retail world. Now, I saw the roll on foundation, a primer, and a cleanser from L’Oreal. Today I will be reviewing the L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub with the Scrublet. I am very excited and I will be purchasing more products from the new releases as said in the beginning so expect reviews of those within a week or so. I picked up the L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub with the Scrublet for review and also since I had heard a lot of buzz about this products from bloggers from the UK, I thought I might as well try it out for myself and give you girls (and guys) my honest opinion on it. It retails from major drugstores and major online stores anywhere from $6.99-$7.99. I got it for $7.19 which pretty reasonable for an amazing product. Keep reading to see why this product amazed me so much.

Pros:
-It literally gets into those pores and gets the blackheads and oils out of there.
-It smells great; a lot like the St Ives Apricot Scrub.
-The little Scrublet is amazing.
-A pea sized amount goes a long way.
-Definitely a bang for your buck.
-Love the cute packaging.
-Good for traveling.
-It minimize pore size.
-It leaves my skin feeling smoother and softer; no more roughness from flaking.

Cons:
-Not good for sensitive skin since the exfoliating beads are very abrasive.
-May over exfoliate and leave raw skin as well as irritate skin.

Overall review: Since I am a sucker for packaging, I really liked this. It was cute and very compact. It’s also nice for traveling as the Scrublet pops back into the hole in the bottle. The first time I used it although, I scribed too hard and my skin started hurting and stinging. My cheek area looked like it was over exfoliated and turned red so for those of you who have issue with that, you might want to use the version for sensitive skin. The beads for exfoliating could be very abrasive at times, but overall I like the job it done. I have a lot of black heads on my nose, and this got rid of them.

Would I purchase it again? : Yes; I think I’ll go and buy another one when they are on clearance sale.

Rating: 9.5/10

Packaging: 10/10 Amazing!

Is it VICKY approved? : Yes!

Review: Lancôme Galatée Confort Comforting Milky Creme Cleanser

Hi girls, today I’m reviewing my mom’s holy grail cleanser. It’s the Lancôme Galatée Confort Comforting Milky Creme Cleanser. It retails for $30 at some retailers and $47 at others, but either way, it’s definitely a very high end product. Keep reading for my review.

Pros: One pump gets your entire face done. It removes eye makeup and lip stains and such very effortlessly. Since its oil based (like many other Lancôme makeup removers), it’s easier to remove waterproof makeup too.

Cons: No cons!

Overall review: In my opinion, it definitely a band for your buck because if you just use it to remove your makeup, you just need one pump and you’re done. It will definitely last you a long while. One bottle has lasted my mother and I a year and half. It’s definitely a good deal.

Would I purchase it again? : Actually, my mom has purchased this and I share with her and this is her 2nd or 3rd bottle of this stuff.

Rating: 10/10

Packaging: 10/10 Very convenient in a pump.

Is it VICKY approved? : Yes, definitely, buy this if you want conditioned lashes after you remove your makeup and softer skin.

*Disclosure: This product was paid for by my mom. I received no compensation for this review. I have no affiliation with any companies mentioned. All opinions are 100% honest.

Review: Good for you Girls Skincare Line

Hey everyone, this is a review for a skincare line. Kim Grustas, the owner of Good for you Girls skincare sent me their mini complete skincare kit. This skincare line is mainly targeted towards tweens. I consisted of their Gel Cleanser which is soap-free. It washes away impurities and with all the good products in it, it balances a younger girls’ skin. Our soap-free, gel cleanser gently washes away daily dirt and grime without stripping or irritating skin. Natural surfactants and organic extracts create a beautiful lather that effectively cleans skin of impurities while organic chamomile, antioxidant rich green tea and vitamin E sooth and protect. This is what is says on the website and it actually works for me. Then in the kit comes the refreshing toner. This is the description on the website: For those with blemish issues our Blemish Wash helps deep clean pores and fight bacteria naturally. Delicate Jojoba beads loosen excess oils and impurities while an effective blend of tropical fruit enzymes and meadowsweet extract fight bacteria. Organic calendula and chamomile extracts help soothe skin and calm redness. I also got the Oil-Free Moisturizer. This is the description on the website: Maintain skin's healthy moisture balance without clogging pores. Our lightweight facial moisturizer absorbs instantly to help protect against moisture loss. Organic extracts and aloe vera help replenish nutrients while green tea and organic chamomile extract helps to protect from free radical damage and inflammation. Everything that the website says, it does. I can actually give you honest opinions: When I took the toner and put it on a cotton round and I rubbed it all over my face, a lot of dark crap came out. It was weird, but then I looked at my face and guess what my face actually looked much purified. Now, the moisturizer also worked nicely too because it isn’t oily like other moisturizers and it absorbs quickly. The cleanser is also amazing. Now, I want to leave something for the actual review so let’s get started. Also, there is a surprise at the end so keep reading to know more.

List of ALL the Good Ingredients in the Skincare from the website:
• Organic arnica extract - Chosen for its anti-inflammatory properties.
• Organic lavender extract - Chosen for its antibacterial properties; it tones and revitalizes skin, and is well-known for its soothing, calming aromatherapy effect.
• Organic chamomile extract - Chosen for its anti-inflammatory properties; it is very calming to the skin.
• Organic calendula extract - Chosen for its antimicrobial skin healing properties; it is also used as a humectant.
• White/Green tea extracts - Chosen for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties; they reduce free radical damage, and are healing to the skin.
• Black tea - Chosen for its astringent and toning properties.
• Comfrey extract (Allantoin) - Repairs skin tissue and promotes new cell growth.
• Vitamin E (Tocopherol Acetate) - An antioxidant, moisturizer and stabilizer.
• Organic olive oil - An antioxidant, moisturizer and skin smoother, rich in vitamins and minerals.
• Organic avocado oil - Used as an emollient. Nourishes with Vitamins A & E; also considered an antioxidant.
• Organic jojoba oil - A liquid plant wax that creates a protective film on skin to maintain moisture.
• Organic sunflower seed oil - High in essential fatty acids. Moisturizes and conditions the skin.
• Glycerin - Plant derived skin-softener and humectant.
• Witch hazel distillate - A non-alcohol astringent, chosen for its antibacterial properties. It is cooling and soothing to the skin.
• Organic aloe vera gel - Chosen for its anti-inflammatory properties, it is cooling to the skin, and stimulates repair to damaged skin.
• Spirae ulmaria extract (Meadowsweet) - Targets clogged pores and reduces sebum.
• Organic rose hip oil - Provides a natural moisture barrier to the skin; Tones and soothes.
• Organic borage oil - Excellent for dry skin, acne, and dermatitis.
• 100% Natural Aromatics - A combination of natural essential oils and aromatics. No synthetics.

Pros: All of the ingredients are all natural. The cleanser makes my skin very soft and it doesn’t dry my skin out. It doesn’t make me break out and since I have dry and sensitive skin, it doesn’t irritate me. Then, the toner is amazing. It’s better than any toner I’ve ever used. It is not alcohol based and doesn’t sting my skin. It actually gives a nice cooling effect. It removes all the dirt from my skin. I actually used it after I came back from my 6 hour job and I touched my face only a couple of times during the day and after I used it, a lot of the oil and gunk showed on the cotton round. I was going to put a picture, but it’s very gross. Tell me if you want to see the crap. Lastly, the moisturizer really helped balance my skin out. After using everything, my face felt very pure and my pores felt unclogged. I didn’t want to put a moisturizer, but there is actually no oil in it which is good. It absorbed into my face quickly and moisturized nicely.

Cons: No cons, I just love the skincare products.

Overall Review: I think this company is by far the best one out there. It has really improved my skin in the first use and I hope to purchase another kit. Also, one kit lasts 4-6 months which is really a bang for your buck. I just love it!

Rating: 10/10

Packaging: 10/10
