Mini-Reviews: Face Atelier Shadow, Primers, and Highlighters

Hey girls! Today I will yet be doing another one of my mini-reviews series. The mini-reviews series focuses on products that I sent a sample jar or a very tiny amount of. Since you don’t get to see packaging or anything, I will not devote an entire review to these products. Today we have 4 products from Face Atelier cosmetics. One is their Lip Putty, next is their Ultra sheer highlighter in peach, then is their T-gel, and finally is their loose eye shadow in 6 which is a dark brown color with olive green duo chrome as you move.

My review (by product):
-Ultra sheer highlighter in peach: This isn’t too sheer and its color is quite buildable. I actually don’t have anything bad to say about it. It’s nice a dewy for the summer. I use it on my cheek bones and my cupids bow. The peach shade is in the picture and the one below it is the highlighter but blended out.

-Loose shadow in 6: This shade is really pretty since it has a duo chrome, but it would look off in the crease as this tends off to give two shades so if you have a light beige shade on your lid and you want to do a neutral look, don’t use this in the crease since it will look olive green in the light. It has a lot of fallout so I think this is best for the night as it would look nice in pics. Also, its best used wet.

-Lip putty: This lip putty is meant for being like a lip primer. It has the consistency of a lip balm, but clear, thick, and matte. It filled in the cracks in my lips before I applied my lipsticks and I’ve got to say that the lipstick glided on really easily. It doesn’t have an odor either.
-T-gel: This gel is not too thin or thick in consistency. It’s meant for your T-zone and it definitely mattifes that area and reduced the size of my pores. Although, people allergic to silicone might not like this product.

Rating (by product):
-Ultra sheer highlighter: 10/10 :)
-Loose shadow: 8/10
-Lip putty: 10/10 :)
-T-gel: 8/10

Would I recommend any of these? : Yup, definitely go and get the lip putty and
highlighter.

Review: Erno Lazlo MULTI-pHASE Bronzer

Don’t any of you ever think why I don’t review any bronzers? This review might tell you why! Well, let’s get started. Today I’m reviewing the Erno Lazlo cosmetics MULTI-Phase Bronzer. This bronzer is made for all skin types and is universal. That’s why it looks like a mosaic pattern since you can swirl all the shades together to get the perfect shade of bronzer. You can find it online at ernolazlo.com for $38. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Universal for all skin types and doesn’t clog pores.
-Doesn’t look muddy on fair tones and doesn’t darken already dark tones.
-Decent amount of shimmer that doesn’t make you look like a disco ball.
-Last about 3 hours and has buildable color.

Con(s):
-Emphasizes my pores (makes my pores look HUGE)!

Overall review: So, let me end off my telling you a story. About a month ago, I wore this bronzer when I went out with the boyfriend for a cup of coffee and he’s never rude but that day he said “Babe your pores look huge, no offense”. I stomped out of there faster than you can say Di-hydrogen monoxide. I went home (a block away) and looked in my mirror. He wasn’t joking. They were so accentuated and then I couldn’t believe I was walking around campus with my huge pores. In short, wear a primer with this product or you’ll look hideous. Overall I do like it thought, it has the perfect amount of shimmer even good for a work day and it stays on pretty long. Nonetheless, I hope all of you enjoyed this product review!

Rating: 8/10 the pores set this rating back A LOT.

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, but don’t forget your pore perfecting primer or else!

Review: Marie Louise Washing Foam

Hey girls! After all of my success with the skincare reviews, I’m yet again reviewing another company. I’ve reviewed it before, but I’ll be introducing a new product today. It’s called the Marie Louise Washing Foam. This retails for $51 off of the marielouisecosmetics.com. Basically, it’s a facial cleanser that removes everyday buildup of dirt, grime and bacteria. Keep reading to see my 2 cents on this product!

Pro(s):
-A little but goes a long way.
-You get a lot of product for the hefty price you pay.
-It removes dirt/grime and exfoliates.

Con(s):
-The price is very hefty!
-The smell of it might bother some people.

Overall review: Personally, I think that this is an okay cleanser. It does the job, buts sets you back about $50 which not everyone can afford in this recession, but if you want a spa feeling at home then buy this product. The smell is the only thing that threw me off other than the price. The smell is weird. I can’t even describe it, but most of you might be bothered by it. I do like this cleanser though. You only need one pump of this stuff to wash your entire face and then you will be able to feel squeaky clean. It literally made my face squeak when I used this cleanser. Well, that’s just my 2 cents on this product. I hope all of you enjoyed and more reviews coming soon!

Rating: 6/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : I definitely recommend this for people NOT on a budget!

new China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection for Fall 2010 Part 3: Review

Hey women! Today I will be reviewing the China Glaze Vintage Vixen collection for fall 2010. I’m not doing my formatted reviews since it’s an entire collection, not just a single polish. Overall, the formula is just like normal China Glaze polishes. It’s not too thick and goopy or too thin and runny. There were a couple of polishes that I found a bit goopy, but not thick in consistency. They are the following: Riveter Rouge, Foxy, and Goin’ My Way. It didn’t bother me that much, but super picky people would mind (and I mean REALLY PICKY PEOPLE). There are no crème shades in this collection which is a good change for the fall since all throughout spring and summer we are used to wearing super crème finished polishes. I hope you enjoy the product pics:http://onegirlspassionformakeup.blogspot.com/2010/06/new-china-glaze-vintage-vixen_21.html and
swatches:http://onegirlspassionformakeup.blogspot.com/2010/06/new-china-glaze-vintage-vixen.html. They are all really dark colors which is a plus for the cold fall months. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!

Review: N.Y.C Blushable Cream stick

Hey girls! Toda I’ll be reviewing the N.Y.C Blushable Cream stick in Pink Flash. These blush sticks are supposed to be dupes for the Clinique Cream Blush sticks. These retail for $3.99, but on the display they have a $1 off coupon. You can get it at Rite Aid, Walgreens, and anywhere they sell N.Y.C. products. The shade I have in Pink Flash is limited edition and is a coral pink shade. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Wide range of shades.
-Creamy formula that’s not too hard or soft.
-Very pigmented stick and travel friendly.
-Nice dewy finish while having buildable color.
-Doesn’t clog pores and is long lasting.

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted.

Overall review: I think this product is perfect for summer. Its long lasting, comes in a wide range of shades, and doesn’t clog pores. I suggest this for any younger girl who doesn’t want the heavy look of powder blush because they can just blend some of this in and they have a natural looking flush. It looks pretty natural and since it’s very blendable, it will never cake. You can build up the intensity of the product. Thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoyed!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it VICKY approved? : Yup, go grab one of these while they’re available.

Review: Olivella Daily Facial Cleasning Tissues

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Olivella Daily Facial Cleansing Tissues. Basically they’re wipes to clean your face. You get 30 sheets for $7.50. You can buy them at olivellausa.com. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Cleanses, tones, and moisturizes the face really well!
-Doesn’t leave skin feeling tight.
-The ingredients in the wipes have anti-ageing properties since there is olive oil in them.

Con(s):
-None found while the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: You would normally use these for makeup removing because that’s what people use facial cleansing wipes for, but you really won’t be able to remove any makeup with this stuff. It’s just for those mornings or nights when you don’t have any makeup on, but you’re too lazy to wash, tone, and moisturize your face. This one sheet does all of that for you. I used it a couple of morning when I woke up a bit late on purpose so I could test these out. I ran the wipe all over my face and neck and then I rinse my face with water. I felt refreshed and I didn’t use a moisturizer that day and I’ve got to tell you that my makeup felt better on my face without silicone and moisturizer on it. I hope all of you enjoy my review on this product!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Of course, but strictly for cleansing the face!

Review: Motives Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Motives Pressed Eye shadow. The shadows I have are in the following shades: Vanilla which is an off white matte shade, Heiress which is a shimmery baby pink shade, and Cinnamon Spice which is a dark brown with a shimmery finish. They retail for $12 each from motivescosmetics.com. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very long lasting, pigmented, and crease-free.
-They have a wide range of shades available.
-They have a wide range of finishes available like matte, shimmer, and glitter.
-Paraben, fragrance, and oil free.

Con(s):
-None found during the testing of this product was conducted!

Overall review: I really like these shadows. They’re the perfect MAC dupes because a MAC shadow in the pot is $14.50 and this shadow is $12. It won’t set you back that much. I personally prefer these over MAC shadows. Since you get .06 oz. of product, I think it’s a great alternative of MAC. You get the same quality for less. Thanks to Michelle F. for requesting this review. I hope all of my loyal readers enjoyed and keep requesting!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, they’re the best MAC dupes!

Review: Karma Organic Spa Body Lotion

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Karma Organic Spa Lotion for hands and feet. This is for father’s day since I gave it to my dad and it’s a very appropriate gift for fathers since it doesn’t look too feminine. It comes in a small tub with 4 oz. of product for $20 at karmaorganicspa.com. It comes in a variety of different scents, but I have the Geranium one. Keep reading to see my review on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very thin consistency!
-Moisturizing and absorbs in really fast.
-Very lightweight and a little goes a long way!

Con(s):
-Heavy organic scent which may bother people with sensitive noses.
-Doesn't have SPF.
-Tub packaging isn't the best!

Overall review: I just love this product except for its scent. It’s very disturbing but they have other scents like peppermint and lavender. They’re supposed to be aromatherapy and I think that if you used the lavender one before you went to sleep you will feel relaxed. The consistency is really thin and when my dad first opened it, he wasn’t careful and it spilled all over. They should have it in a squeeze tube bottle. My dad really likes the organic scent, but it bothered my nose. Its best for summer since its lightweight, but I hope it had SPF. Thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoyed!

Rating: 7/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, but remember to get a scent you like, not just any random scent!

Happy Fathers Day OGPFM Blog Readers!

Hey girls, I wish all of you and your fathers a very happy fathers day! I hope you all enjoy!

Review: Motives Cosmetics Pressed Blush

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Motives Cosmetics Pressed Blush in Naughty. This blush retails for $13.50 from motivescosmetics.com. This shade is a mid-tone coral with hints of pink. You get .11 oz. of product. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Smooth texture and not too powdery looking!
-Very pigmented!
-Very buildable and doesn’t clog pores!
-Paraben, fragrance, and oil free!
-Affordable compared to MAC!
-Long lasting.

Con(s):
-None found while testing this product!

Overall review: This blush is really good for people who want the quality of MAC for $6 less. A MAC blush is $18.50 in pot form and the Motives Blush is $13.50 in pot form. It won’t irritate your skin like MAC might and it’s just a cheaper alternative. Everything is perfect about it. It’s not too shimmery or too matte. It creates a perfect natural glow. Thanks to Lizzy for requesting this review. I hope all of you enjoyed my review!

Rating: 10/10 :)

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yes, it’s a cheaper alternative to MAC!

Review: Hard Candy Kaleyedescope Baked Eyeshadow Duo

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Hard Candy Kaleyedescope Baked Eye shadow Duo. This retails for $6 from walmart.com and Wal-Mart stores. The shade I have this duo is in Pick Up Line. The lighter shade is a frosty white shade that looks like a frosty gold/yellow because of the duo chrome. The darker aqua blue shade is turquoise/blue looking on the eyelids because of the duo chrome again. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Very pigmented!
-Affordable at only $6 a pop.
-The shadows have a nice duo chrome effect.
-Can be used wet or dry.

Con(s):
-A lot of fallout.

Overall review: I really like this eye shadow duo. They’re like the perfect duo you would ever want without paying the hefty price of MAC Mineralized Duos. The only thing that bothered me was that there was a lot of fallout and since it was very shimmery it was hard to just “sweep” away the fallout. The shimmer would spread if you tried sweeping it away so you should use a shadow shield. Everything else is perfect about it like I said before. I hope all of you enjoyed and keep requesting!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, I’ll definitely be getting me more of these!

Review: Lush Lip Scrubs

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the new Lush Lip Scrubs. They were introduced in the UK a month or two ago and now they’re available from Lush USA. They retail for $8.95 for .8 ounces. The two flavors I have are in Mint Julip and Bubblegum. Both of these products are vegan which may be a plus for some of you. Keep reading to see my thoughts on this product!

Pro(s):
-Exfoliates nicely without hurting your lips and tastes good.
-Nice compact travel size.
-A little bit goes a long way!

Con(s):
-A bit pricey for how much product you get.

Overall review: I think these are okay as a product but I wish they’d lower the prices. No one would buy these at $9 a pop. They taste really good thought and it won’t harm you if you swallow a bit (I don’t know if its non-toxic). The bubble gum flavor tastes exactly like bubble gum and it’s very sweet. The mint julips tastes like mint and chocolate ice cream. They both are user friendly, but I think that a mix of baby oil and sugar will do. You don’t have to spend $9 for that product. Thanks to Maria for reuesting this review and I hope all of you enjoyed!

Rating: 7/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Nope, you should just opt for baby oil and sugar!

Review: Marie Louise Clear Cleansing Gel

Hey girls! So, my finals are almost over so we don’t get any homework which means that I can focus more on the blog for the entire summer until I start residency. Today I’ll be reviewing the Marie Louise Cleansing Clear Gel. This product retails for $39 currently since it’s on discount for 31% off, but originally its $57.

Pro(s):
-Removes all makeup including waterproof and MAC Liquid last liner.
-Conditions the skin and leaves skin feeling clean.
-Thick consistency which thins out after rubbing in.

Con(s):
-When used on eyes, after rinsing, your vision is cloudy for a minute or two.

Overall review: I overall really love this product. Whenever I have super heavy makeup on, I used this and it gets rid of all of your makeup less than 5 minutes. It reminds me a lot of a thick gel cleansing oil because when you rub it into your skin, it thins out into a cleansing oil like MAC’s or NARS’ cleansing oils’ consistencies. I used it on my eyes too and it gets rid of stubborn makeup, especially MAC Liquid last liner which most of you might know takes forever to remove. It’s my Holy Grail makeup remover and you only need a little bit for your entire face. Thanks to Jessica for requesting this review and I thanks all of you for subbing and reading!

Rating: 9/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, but a hefty price tag!

Review: Marie Louise Facial Moisturizer

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Marie Louise Facial Moisturizer. You can buy it for $75 currently since they have a 31% discount at the beginning of the month but its original price is $109. You can purchase it at their website (the link is in the right bar). You get 1.06 ounces of product. Keep reading to know more!

Pro(s):
-Very moisturizing.
-Plumps and firms my skin.
-It doesn’t make me greasy.

Con(s):
-Made me break out and I have dry skin in the winter.

Overall review: I really like this product for the winter months when your skin is dehydrated and dry. It absorbs in very fast and it feels very soft on your skin. I fell that it’s best for older people because it might be too thick for younger skin. It can cause little bumps on your skin. Other than that, it made be break out, but it wasn’t that bad. I just really like it, but not for summer. Thanks to Gina for requesting this review and I hope all of my readers enjoy my review!

Rating: 8/10

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, best for winter!

Review: Olivella Body Lotion 100% Natural Olive Oil

Hey girls! Today I’ll be reviewing the Olivella Body Lotion made from 100% natural olive oil. So now you’re thinking, wait a minute this might be excessively greasy, but keep reading to see that’s it isn’t! You can buy this online at OlivellaUSA.com. It retails for $16 for 200mL. They also have a large pump size that has 500mL of product. Keep reading to know my opinion on this!

Pro(s):
-Very moisturizing and non-greasy.
-Good for all seasons and light fragrance.
-Not too thick or thin in consistency.

Con(s):
-Might be a bit pricey.

Overall review: I really like this product to death! It has anti-aging properties since it has olive oil in it. I don’t know if people might want to shell out $16 for a body lotion, but its super moisturizing and it doesn’t clog pores. It works best after showering and it conditions my skin nicely. I actually have really dry skin all year long and this helps with the flakiness and rough spots a lot. Thanks to Melina for requesting this review and I hope all of my other wonderful readers enjoy and thanks so much for your support!

Rating: 9/10 The price might set back some people as well as its availability.

Is it recommended by Vicky? : Yup, I plan on repurchasing it soon!
